Reminded me of Daisy Jones and the Six, although the plot twists in The Final Revival of Opal and Nev are more interesting and sophisticated. I appreciated the character development and the exploration of race and gender against the punk rock and fashion background of the 70s.

Fascinating glimpse into the final months and days of the Trump presidency. Michael Wolff is a great storyteller and weaves together his on-the-record sources with those on background to tell a compelling story about the inner workings of the administration. Whether you are a Supporter of the former President or not, the issues Wolf raises about power and how political entities work to maintain or thwart that power is worthy of consideration.

BookishMarginalia I got this today. 3y
mstie @BookishMarginalia Let me know what you think. I always am surprised at the level of dysfunction in high offices. Same drama as at my work place! 3y

Who is Maud Dixon? | Alexandra Andrews

I thoroughly enjoyed Who is Maud Dixon? It is a smart thriller with plenty of twists to keep you guessing. I also found it fascinating how the characters rationalized their decisions and actions as they all got deeper and deeper into their deceptions. Highly recommend!

The Plot | Jean Hanff Korelitz

Eminently readable and an enjoyable summer thriller. The NYT review describes The Plot‘s storyline as “Russian nesting dolls” of twists and turns, an accurate description of the layered mystery. While the whodunit doesn‘t end up a complete shocker, there are many moments you find yourself rooting for the protagonist, despite his flaws.

BookishMarginalia I have this in a stack next to my bed, so I‘ll be reading it soonish! 👍🏼 3y
