This book is delightfully spooky and well-written. Having a hard time putting it down on this lovely Saturday!

I read this for a Mock Printz group I belong to on Goodreads. Very interesting concept with a nice dose of sweetness abc ugly cry.
This book reminded me of Emma Cline's "The Girls." It's a dark look at LA culture and the need for girls to feel accepted.
After a busy weekend, I have some quiet time to myself to read. Ahhhhhhh...
For educators on here: I just finished reading this, as the ideas in the book are informing our focus for this year. It's so awesome. For anyone who really wants to be pushed in their thinking about how to support all students, this is a must read!
Reading this for my Diverse YA Book Club. Super cute so far! I love that it's about the dynamics of a foster family.
What a redemptive, hopeful, and uplifting book. It explores the complexity, safety, heartbreak, and love of family beautifully. Highly recommend!
I finally have some quiet time to read this book. Interesting so far and a pretty quick read! What has everyone else thought? I know it's been pretty popular around here.
I put this on hold at the library months ago. So excited to finally dig in!
Got this from NetGalley and really liked it! Definitely kept me guessing until the end, and I loved how all the characters' stories intertwined. This is a very entertaining and intriguing read.
Thanks to this group, I learned about NetGalley and got my first book from them! I love reading ARCs. They make me feel fancy. :)
In a world where there is so much hate, this book is part of a crucial body of work: stories that illuminate the diverse experiences of people who identify as LGBTQIA. This book feels like it encompasses many of the complexities of what it means to grow up trans.
Waiting for Finding Dory at the Drive-in with my fam. Arrived almost 2 hours before the show. Thank goodness for books. I'm reading this one for my Diverse YA Book Club!
For people who want to reacquaint themselves with the classics, I learned about a cool app called Serial Reader that delivers a classic of your choice to your device each day in 10-minute segments. Very cool idea!
My husband and father-in-law built me a Little Free Library for Mother's Day, and it is finally installed. I even added some "currently reading" signage. I am in love, and I can't wait for people in my neighborhood to start using it!!
Well, I haven't done this in awhile. I got sucked into this book and just couldn't stop reading. I love that this book is about the important legacy of women in a girl's life and the value of deep and true friendship. I shed a few years MULTIPLE times while reading!
Continuing my mission to read more children's lit, I picked up this one. Love the opening line: "It is a known fact that the most extraordinary moments in a person's life come disguised as ordinary days."
What a beautiful book. So much truth in this little gem about journeys, family, and knowing oneself.
Listened to this book on my drive to and from Monterey. It's a hilarious and wise look on motherhood, feminism, and leadership. I realized that I NEED to be friends with this woman. #lifegoals
The great thing about listening to an audiobook is that you have something soothing to do when you wake up in the middle of the night and can't sleep.
Tons of my FB friends recommended this one too. Good thing I'll have lots of time in the car by myself.
Headed on a road trip tomorrow. I'm all set with my in-car entertainment. #readallthebooks
This is a very quick but very intensely emotional and, at times, disturbing read about a teenage Native American girl who deals drugs to save for college and gets pregnant at 16. It provides a very salient look at alcoholism, abuse, teen pregnancy and motherhood, poverty, and a host of other issues.
Trying to finish my book for my diverse YA lit book club on this beautiful Sunday. I have a loooooong way to go! This is a gritty and raw read.
Trying to expand my reading life into more children's lit. This book is getting great reviews in the journals. It's such a sweet and touching book so far about a boy who goes on a journey to get back his pet fox. As a recent dog owner, I am moved by the bond between Peter (the boy) and Pax (the fox)
It's a good day when you pick up books from the library that you requested. The Lie Tree is getting lots of buzz, so I'm excited to check it out. Equally intrigued by The Sympathizer. I hadn't even heard of it when it was announced as this year's Pulitzer winner.
Out of Darkness by Ashley Hope Perez feels like being flayed open and having your guts put on display. To say I liked this book is the completely wrong sentiment. It's like pressing a bruise as hard as you can. You know it hurts so badly, but lifting your finger off the sore spot is a relief.
Starting my morning with this gem. I have gotten so behind on my reading goal this month!
