This book is everything. I‘m going to have to read every single one of her books now.

This book had so much potential. I think the story is fascinating, but the writing leaves so much to be desired. When I got to the end of the book, the author‘s bio says that she used to write manuals for computer programs, and it dawned on me that maybe that was the problem. The story was SO boring despite there being quite a bit of action. This was my “purple” square of my book challenge.
This book is going quite slowly for me for some reason, but I really loved this quote.
I‘m 7% in and I‘m already super impressed with this unintentionally savage quote.
Next up is The Night Circus for my “hyped book” square. I‘m excited to finally read this after hearing so many good things about it.
Very atmospheric, but lacking in plot or character development. This story tried to survive on the merit of its writing alone, which admittedly was lovely. However, pretty words can only do so much for a mediocre story.
I read this and immediately went “Awwww!” So corny, but so cute. This book is for my “magic” space in the summer book challenge.
For my “crush” space of the summer challenge. I wanted to love this, but it ended up falling flat.
For my “TBR Group Read” square on my challenge. I ended up liking this more than I thought it would considering I‘m not really a fan of westerns. However, there was enough dystopia, romance, intrigue all of that...to make it more palatable.
I ended up really liking this one, which is what I expected considering it has such a following. This was for my “New To You Author” square. I definitely plan on finishing the trilogy. Hopefully the other books match one of the squares I prerolled.
Read for my “fantasy” space on my book challenge. I wanted to love it, but this was one of the more mediocre stories I‘ve read...no real setting, flat characters, very little in terms of plot. It wanted to survive on the mood alone and I don‘t think it was all that successful.
My next space on the challenge board is “first love.” I loved this movie, I can‘t wait to dive into the source material!
For my next #summerlovinbookchallenge #tbrandbeyond pick I got “travel.” This book was recommended and I love the addition of the playlists the characters are listening to as they drive. This is one of my favorite songs back when I was really in to pop punk music. So glad to see it in the book!
I ended up really liking Dread Nation. It was such a creative take on alternative history books. The Civil War ended because the dead began to rise and this book chronicles the adventures of one girl trying to stay alive. I don‘t often like books that have first person narrators because the narrators are never likeable enough. Well, Jane Mckeene is likeable. She is clever, whip smart, and a colorful character. Glad I picked this one up!
WAIT?! You telling me Dread Nation has bisexual AND asexual characters of color? This definitely fits the diversity category!! #tbrandbeyond #summerbookchallenge
#currentlylistening. So far so good. Although the southern accents of the voice actors is something to get used to.
