This trilogy is so gloomy, slow, sad but I enjoyed it🤷🏽♀️The covers are spectacular. It has an army raised from the dead, a lot of cadavers here, necromancy spells😳

1. 2-4 times a day. Depends if it‘s a workout day or not, and on weekends/rest days if we don‘t have any plans I‘ll change clothes less frequently.
2. I had trouble thinking of one but the tagged book series has a character that dresses all the other characters if I remember correctly…

This is a story of explorations and self-discovery, and the journey you'll go on is simply enthralling. What caught my attention is the intricate plot and unparalleled world-building. Author takes her time building and molding the world of The Bone Witch, and her writing is so unapologetically detailed that it is impossible not to feel the environment and....

Tea learns of her necromantic powers when she accidentally raises her brother. She‘s taken under the wing of another bone witch to learn how to protect the kingdom from the dark forces trying to destroy them.
The world building was truly amazing in this, lush & vast. Unfortunately, there was a lot of info dumping, this felt very slow throughout, & this really felt like a prologue expanded into a whole book. It all felt like set up. 🌕🌕🌕🌑🌑
One of my current reads nicely matches up with the #purple prompt for the #PhotoChallenge !
TBH I did not know anything about this book beyond the gorgeous cover before I bought it! 😅

I enjoyed this more in audiobook form than the first time that I read a physical copy. The narrator is excellent and really put a lot of genuine sounding emotions into her voice. The story is fascinating to me. Not certain when I'll get to the next book, as I now have two other audiobooks that became available. Maybe the end of the month or November.

Another book that deserves a reread.
I read this book several years ago and remember enjoying it. I read the second book, but don't remember much about it. I meant to read the third book but it's been so long now that I figured I should start again from the beginning. This time, I'm listening to it on audiobook.
This book kind of dragged on in the beginning and middle but by the end I found myself needing to know more about this bone witch, the world she lives in, and what her plans are. It was basically a very long introduction to this story and how she got to where she is. I do want to read the second book to see what happens, but I‘m not racing to buy it.
I think this probably would have been better if I had read the print version as opposed to the audio. It was kind of hard to follow and one of the narrators liked to whisper a lot. Either way I'm not planning to carry on with the series.
book #3 for #witchathon #readinggoals #spookyreads loved this super easy and cute diy bats and sticks @mdm139
(2017) It's a YA fantasy about a girl who accidentally raises her brother from the dead. The deed reached the ears of a bone witch -- whose magic involves raising and killing demon-monsters -- who takes the girl under her wing for training. It's very YA with its magic school and its super special heroine and its first person narration and its general angst and im not YA so probably not the best to judge it.
The beast raged; it punctured the air with its spite.

I was finally able to read the and I‘m now moving on to the second book in the series 📖🤨🤗 great read can‘t wait to dig into the second one
1) done
2) most of the books I read are series related but Anxious People by Fredrik Blackman would be a good book for a sequel
3) I gave my last book a 👍🏼 it was good 😊

Some light reading starting the first few chapters of my course book and squeezing in my fun reading where I can 🤪📖
YA fantasy where Tea will discover that she is a Bone Witch when she raised her brother from his grave without knowing what she was doing. This first book is to describe Tea‘s training as bone witch and how she will discover her powers. I really enjoyed it. Ready for the second book. 3.5/3.8⭐️

I didn‘t realize how much magic my reading included this year. The Bone Witch wasn‘t much to my liking. I think I‘ll be skipping the rest of the series. But the other 3 will be rereads eventually. #christyread #TouchOfMagic
Not sure why I waited so long on this series but I‘m really enjoying it!! The audiobook is nicely done as it‘s getting me through the last couple days of work before the holidays. I already started the second one, which is unusual for me with series.
3.9⭐️ don‘t get me wrong, the story is really good. There‘s just a lot going on as it jumps from one part of the story to another. The story starts in the present, and you‘re aware that something has taken place and through back-and-forth between the present and the past, you still don‘t find out what happened. I know, it‘s a trilogy and we‘re gonna find out in the next book, but the cliffhanger sucked. #TeamHendrix #scarathlon2021 #scarathlon
Happy birthday to @TheAromaofBooks . Today I am reading The Bone Witch and starting From blood and Ash for your birthday readathon. Hope you are having an amazing birthday.

#LittensDressedInBlood Today's prompt is Black Magic Woman
I love this series (as well as her The Girl From the Well duology), and main character Tea definitely fits today's prompt. She's a bone witch, capable of raising the dead. Bone witches are not exactly popular in Tea's world, and after she's betrayed, she sets off on her own dark path.
It had me hooked from the first chapter with its hero to villain to Anti Hero arc. The MC an innocent young woman with a hated power, that uses her progression to change her world and the monsters lurking around it. Written in first person perspective to get an inside depth into the character's change to really emphasise the plot and side character arcs within the story. Greed and power, love and acceptance, magic and hate.
A 5⭐ series ❤

Tea is a Bone Witch, a witch that can resurrect the dead. Not her choice and she is ostracized by her community for it. While she is a powerful being, she wants to become an Asha, a witch that can use elemental magic. These books are amazing.
The first time I picked up this book I didn‘t get very far. At first I felt that I didn‘t have the attention span to dive into a world with lands and kingdoms that I would have to keep track of. However, I am glad I picked it up a second time. I chose not to focus on the minute details of the kingdoms because the main storyline is badass! The author sets a great foundation for the main character and writes a beautiful picture.
When Tea accidentally raises her solider brother from the dead she finds out she‘s a “bone witch” or “dark asha”. Mentored by a fellow dark asha she learns the ways of asha and magic welding. There was a lot of world building, which caused the story to drag at times. I am however, intrigued enough to continue on to the second book which I‘m hoping has a faster paced plot.
Had a gift card for B&N so we took a family trip. My kids and I were successful.😄 The hubby, not so much. The past year, I have really gotten into fantasy and now feel like I'm playing catch up so a lot of purchases lately have fantasy. I'm antsy to read all of these! #fantasy #barnesandnoble

This book was an engrossing read. I love witches and dark power and dragons so it fit me perfectly. I‘m not huge on fantasy or series but I recommend this to anyone wanting to get lost for a few hours. I‘m excited to start book 2
Tea dreamed of becoming an asha, a powerful elemental magic user. But when she discovers the dark runes by resurrecting her brother, the elements are blocked from ever reaching her. This is a chilling coming of age tale filled with death and magic. The Bone Witch is the perfect tale for readers who are looking for a darker young adult story. #youngadult #fantasy

Thank you @tdrosebud for this absolutely delightful #BasicWitchSwap package! All of these books are on my TBR and I have read none of them! Plus a gorgeous tarot deck and rune stones and some chocolate that I have definitely already eaten half of. Happy Halloween indeed!
And thank you to @sprainedbrain and @Meaw_catlady for organizing! 🔮🎃🖤📚🖤😱🔮
I broke my rule about not buying new books, but at least it‘s books that I‘ve already read, so I‘m letting myself slide. After listening to the free audio books on Audible, I knew that I‘d want them in hardcover to add to my permanent collection. The covers are gorgeous! 🖤🖤🖤
This was so much better than I was expecting it to be! I‘ve seen it get mixed reviews and some criticism for being “slow” but I personally thoroughly enjoyed the detailed world building. Reminiscent of Interview With a Vampire in the way this was told, I liked the mystery of the present mixed with the first hand accounts of the past. I‘m looking forward to reading the next one!
Currently listening to this one. It‘s been on my TBR list, and it‘s free to borrow on Audible right now.
#3Books ...I read based solely on the cover
@OriginalCyn620 @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
I‘m giving up on this one - I‘m slowly realising that maybe YA fantasy just isn‘t my thing any more. The story was moving like molasses and there was so much description. Mainly of clothing. And the foretelling was a little too heavy-handed and unnecessarily cryptic. But another book off my backlist! #bookspinbingo @TheAromaofBooks
