I felt anger, sadness and despair reading this. We can do better, we have too.

Not a proud moment in my hometown‘s history, but history it is and it must be learned from.

After reading about the recent book banning ( seriously!), I went on a banned book buying spree. I ordered several by Toni Morrison. This is the first one I have read, 78 pages, a short book, but one of the most powerful books I have read.

Just finished this. I have had The Cemetery of Forgotten Books series on my shelves for a while. Wondering why I waited so long to read them. On to The Prisoner of Heaven next.

What a great book! It has been a while since I have picked up a book and not put it down until I was finished.

This is the third book by Heather Webber I have read. I have loved them all. The theme of family and love but especially, even if done with the best of intentions, sometimes secrets aren‘t good to keep.

I loved this book! I have had it on my shelf for so long, why didn‘t I read it sooner!? Going to look up more by this author.

Moonprismpower I keep a copy on my shelf so I can loan it out. It‘s always a book I recommend. 😃 3y

This was a very easy read and slightly predictable. But I did enjoy it. A light, sweet read, nothing hard to tackle on my day off.

Being from and living In Kentucky, when I found this book I was intrigued. I usually dingo for true crime but I thought I‘d give it a whirl. All I can say, there are some sick people out there. An afternoon I won‘t get back.

What a wonderful book! It is one of the best I have read in several months. Beautifully written, the characters were perfect. I would so love to meet all these children, especially Talia and Lucy. All of them!

Cosmos_Moon_River Ooo, awesome! Already on my TBR. Maybe needs a bump up. 4y

I ended up loving this book, although at the beginning it was a a toss up. Each chapter rotates between past and present. Full of carnival lore, tarot cards and mermaid women, it was hard to put down.

A very quick read. Wish it had gone into more detail regarding those events and the events leading up.

What a wonderful book. The hardship of just surviving int the hollers was so hard to even imagine but add to it, the prejudice endured by being a “Blue”. The ending although bittersweet was still hopeful. Many thumbs up!!

I enjoyed this book. The struggle and ultimate demise of the central family was heartbreaking but right alongside is the resilience of Lavinia. I love books about the South and this one was a pleasure!!

A nice sweet read. I didn‘t have to think much, which if I read several deep books I need one like that. I did enjoy the setting.
