Claire Dunne seamlessly curates these very personal accounts of Jung‘s life using letters to people who mattered to him at various times in his life and letters by others expressing their feelings about him and his thoughts. If you are not totally familiar with Carl Jung‘s work, it serves as a great introduction and you will enjoy this deep dive into what moved him to develop various theories and how he came about them throughout his life.

Exiles | Melanie Rawn
post image

I became aware of Exiles through The Hot Nuance Book Club podcast as I recover from surgery and broken patella. Two magical philosophies, the Mage Guardians and the Malerris battle for supremacy over the Mage born. What fascinated me about this story is Rawn‘s attempt at creating a matriarchal society, the aspects she chooses to invert and those that remain untouched. It features three sisters who end up at odds with each other.

Long Way to a Small | Becky Chambers

This is a cozy Sci-Fi where the plot sets the stage for some unusual relationships! After a while you feel as though you live here too! I‘m so glad this award winning series has a fan base too! As a huge Star Trek fan, I had to “disengage” from that world to participate in this one. It invites you to imagine concerns and values from a whole other perspective while pondering our own existence here on the earth plane. Enjoy!!!

Pickpick

If you love neurology, brain function, and learning to master your own mind, this book presents everything in layman‘s terms! Easy to read connecting to the four personalities that habituate our brain and they all rule at one time or another in our day to day thoughts and lifelong journey we are taking on this earth plane. The book includes journaling prompts and getting to know your own four brain parts in ways you have yet to examine!

Pickpick

You know the drill when you pick up any book by LeGuin. Focus on relationships and personal growth is the value. While the setting is fantastical and exotic, the emotions are visceral and suck you in so heavily you forget you are reading, you are there. “I think,”Tehanu said, in her soft strange voice, “that when I die, I can breathe back the breath that made me live. I can give back to the world all that I didn‘t do. All that I might have been…”

The Bone Orchard | Sara A. Mueller
post image

My friend from my writers‘ group, Sara A. Mueller, is a Tor author now! She read to us from this story while we critiqued it a few years ago. I‘m thrilled thrilled thrilled to pieces that I can share it with you! It‘s an otherworldly murder mystery with lots of unique magic and political intrigue. The main character duplicates herself with her own magic, constructing bone ghosts to store her knowledge and they all work in her bordello.

Kyndrill I got an email that the shipping of my copy was delayed😢 3y
