The Widow | Fiona Barton
Mehso-so

This book is written from the perspective of four main characters. It has been described as "The next gone girl" and compared with "The Girl on the Train". However I don't feel the book has much to say.
It is apparent from the beginning that one of the main characters is unhinged. The plot is predictable. The writing is crisp but I felt the story dragged in some places.

After a love story and a dystopian novel a change is welcome! Currently reading The Widow. I hope it's good!

The Handmaid's Tale | Margaret Atwood
Pickpick

The Handmaid's Tale is dystopian novel set in Gilead society, formerly known as North America. It's the story of Offred, a handmaid. Her only function is to breed. If she refuses to play her part, she will be hanged like the others. Her freedom is a forgotten concept. But even a repressive state cannot obliterate desire.

I started reading The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood today. It's my first book by the author and I am absolutely loving it! I also love the gorgeous cover by Vintage Classics. Check it out.

The Ballroom | Anna Hope
Pickpick

Set in 1911, The Ballroom is an unlikely tale of love and dangerous obsession. Inside Sharston Asylum at the edge of Yorkshire Moors, where men and women are kept by high walls and barred windows, there is a vast and beautiful Ballroom. For one evening the patients come together and dance, a dance which will change the lives of John and Ella forever.
