It‘s about a young girl who is intrigued by a man who was once a master wire- walker but little does she know he holds a deep fear that she will help him to overcome.

Winner of the Randolph Caldecott Medal. Gave a good plot line and showed us good characters that bounced off great ideas and inspiration to one another. It gave a good theme that teaches kid not to give up when things might get rough and to also always push yourself to get better.

Enjoyed the bond Mirette and Mr. Ballini created. He taught her an unique skill and she taught him to believe in himself and to never be scared.

It‘s a captivating book about an apprentice tight right rope walker named Mirrette. This book is great for PR. You can use this text to enhance fluency and compression skills. One EL strategy that can be used is 2, encourage self-talk (positive thinking). UDL strategy 6.1, guide appropriate goal-setting.

Mirette on the High Wire is an excellent historical fiction choice for RA that won the distinguished Caldecott Medal in 1993. The story is about a young girl living in Paris who teaches herself how to tight rope walk and becomes the pupil of a very famous rope performer, Bellini.
