so-soAs a lover of Shakespeare based fiction, I was really looking forward to this one, but it wasn‘t particularly my favorite. If you‘re looking for a magically-travel-into-Shakespeare‘s-work type story I‘d direct you more towards Saving Juliet by Suzanne Selfors. Both similar stories but Saving Juliet has a bit more adventure.
pickI randomly bought this because it's Shakespeare-related, and I love Shakespeare. It's a cute #YA that centers around a high school production of Hamlet. Emma must deal with friendship issues, love interests, and keeping the play rehearsals going smoothly so the production is ready for opening night. pickI LOVE Shakespeare. But I was a little hesitant about reading this book. The premise sounds a little too kitschy for me. Turns out, I was wrong. It is a great price of ya literature. I loved Shakespeare as a teen. I wish this book would have been around then. #yalit #hamlet #shakespeare

pickI'm a fan of any childrens, middle grade, or YA book that brings the world of Shakespeare into its fold. A debut book from this author, it's light and funny but with some solid underlying themes of self-discovery, friendship woes, and being true to yourself. Toss in a dash of time travel and a great peek behind the curtain of the theater itself and you've got yourself a lovely way to wile away a few hours. Looking forward to the next book!
