The Rains: A Novel | 
pickA strange pollen like substance is in the air and wicked things are happening to the adults. Even weirder is that now the adult are hunting and stealing the children. Not completely cohesive but there‘s a truck load of action, and I do love when the kids of the world are figuring it out and survive. A ⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2 stars for me and a pick bc it kept be hooked. Reading part two now.
This is a change in reading for me, I typically stay far away from horror but been wanting to read this one. Everyone who told me this was a zombie novel was a lying liar btw.
End of book 1 had me 😱😱 and so far, part way into book 2, I just need people to stop damning themselves by asking how things could be worse. Because it keeps getting worse.
CW: death (lots of it), and a dog dies in book 1 and I don‘t know why it surprised me but it did 😭
pickSolid apocalyptic read with less zombies and more terrifying gore. The sci-fi lean provided the interest to the end. Written as entries in a journal, the author advances the story at a nice clip while creating characters to love and hate. Didn't see the cliffhanger of an ending coming... kinda bummed I don't have the next book in hand already.
I don‘t know about you all but around here the changing of the #seasonsoflove normally brings the Storm and the rains. ☔️ ☔️☔️

The weather here decided to be perfect for a #LitsyPartyofOne (not sure you can tell it's raining pretty hard in the photo) so I am cuddling up with my book and a cup of coffee to start a full day of reading.
Not a book related post, but a #rain prompt post! Here is a picture of my front yard last night. A heavy downpour that lasted for at least 10 minutes hit my tiny town. Thankfully, my townhouse did not sustain damage. #jubilantjuly
pick*Review based on egalley from Edelweiss* This was a fast-paced, fun read full of suspense, action and intrigue! At first it seems like a zombie apocalypse novel, but it is so much more. With some great characters, an interesting narrator, and a storyline full of twists and jumps as well as some strong emotional moments, this book was hard to put down and I cannot wait to read the next one.
