When I was 13 there was no such thing as YA and I basically just used to ‘loan‘ books from anyone in the house! I pinched this from my brother - and I admit that 13 was probably way too young to read it!
#harddaysnight #heyjune. Lots of the scurrilous activity in this novel make it a hard days night . An amazing book , but when people read what it‘s about , they make a decision to dive right in or run the other way .Punch the ticket and take the ride...liberated from my storage stash just an hour ago.
The bodies went back in the doors and bars and the heads in the windows. The cops drove away and Freddy and the guys went back into the Greeks and the street was quiet, just the sound of a tug and an occasional car; and even the blood couldn't be seen from a few feet away.
are there any likeable characters in this book?!
pickI could not put this book down though it's not for all. A gritty grimy novel using an idiosyncratic style following the exploits of people set in the Sunset Park section of Brooklyn. Drugs, prostitution, homosexuality, transvestism, violence, despair, depression, hope just to name a few themes.
