Bluewater Blues
Bluewater Blues | G B Gordon
4 posts | 1 read
Bonding over the blues is just the start -- if they can learn to trust each other. Jack Daley left his music career behind--along with his domineering father--and is struggling to make a new life for himself and his autistic sister in Bluewater Bay. When a summer storm sweeps a handsome stranger into his general store, Jack is more than ready for a fling. No strings attached, because Jack can't share the secrets he and his sister are hiding from. Unfortunately, his feelings refuse to stay casual. Mark Keao is married to his job as a costume designer on Wolf's Landing. He's autistic, so he's used to people not knowing how to interact with him, but that doesn't mean he wants to be a hermit. Especially when he meets Jack Daley, who dances with brooms, shares his love of the blues, and gets him like no one else. But relationships have proven complicated in the past. Just when Mark is ready to try anyway, Jack pulls back. But Mark isn't giving up, and neither is Jack's sister. And then there's the music both men love, bringing them together time and again. It will take trust, though, to bring them together for good.

Some #blue from my “read this soon” shelf. #ReadingResolutions

(Although “soon” doesn‘t always mean “soon.” It can also mean “When I got this book I wanted to read it immediately, but now it‘s been several years and it‘s still on the TBR.”)

HeatherBookNerd Enduring Love was my first McEwan book. Totally got me hooked on that author. 6y
llwheeler ? that winds up being my definition of "soon" way too often! 6y
Zelma Beautiful Ruins is definitely worth moving up the list. 😍 6y

Pickpick

A little more on the serious side as far as the Bluewater Bay books are concerned, but still an excellent installment. I loved Mark and Margaret, but Jack's need to protect everyone left me bristly at times. Recommend for fans of m/m and people who like diversity in their books. That's something Riptide is good at: representation isn't an afterthought.

My #litsypartyofone is getting off to a slow start. Bad allergies have me squinting at everything, so I'm setting aside really involved stories until I can think again and I'm going with a romance. I love the Bluewater Bay books, they're usually quite gentle and fun.
