Many things have been happening. Deep in a second wave where I live, a lot of stress, I turned 40 this week, am still having a terrible time focusing on reading. But I‘m trying. Definitely still taking library books out like I‘m reading normally 😂

Hope you all are okay, going to try to get back to posting more regularly. Missing this content and need it to replace dumpster fire news!

CoverToCoverGirl Just checking in. How are things? We are in an orange level lockdown here (2 weeks) our cases are starting to drop. My reading focus comes and goes too. 4y

CoverToCoverGirl We went back into the yellow zone yesterday.. masks are mandatory here inside all public spaces but we did have an anti masker protest yesterday too! It‘s cray-cray.. so much misinformation out there. Our cases are down .. we only had 2 today... but they are going up steadily all around us..we have a tremendously high compliance rate within our community and I‘m so thankful for it. Be safe, I hope your case numbers come down. Hugs! 4y

July 27, 1981 in #Hollywood FL, Revé Walsh took her 6 yr old son Adam to Sears with her to look at home furnishings. What happened during that trip would change the way child abductions were handled across the country. This book briefly delved into the back story of how the case was investigated, & ultimately ended with the killer's confession. John Walsh is one of the most well known crime victims out there. His six year old son Adam was kidnapped from a Sears in 1981. His head was found days later, but his killer wasn‘t found until decades later this book lays out how bungled police work and compromised individuals can derail a pretty straight forward case. This was well researched and written. My only complaint is the multiple confessions from the perp made it repetitive. #pop18

L_auren This is one the cases that still gets to me 😭 did they discuss theories about the head not being his? I‘ve heard some conspiracy-type whispers but haven‘t investigated (edited) 7y
Reviewsbylola No, I hadn‘t heard there was any conflicting reports of that. It did mention that at first they did not think it was adam‘s head, but that they quickly confirmed that it was through dental records. It just horrifying. The killer stated that he wanted to keep Adam as his on but killed him when Adam started crying for his mommy. 😢 @L_auren 7y

SaraBeagle I saw John Walsh tell this story once at a conference. It was both difficult and interesting. Amazing what he was eventually able to turn this tragedy into. 7y

This investigative novel dives deep into this crime and finally comes up with some definitive answers. Heartbreaking, infuriating, and tragic, this is a true crime book full of emotions.
