I finished this second Laundry Files book because the entire series was nominated for a Hugo award, and I'm working through the nominees. This one is a mix of Lovecraftian horror and James Bond spy thriller. It's a decent story but the humour is not really my cup of tea, so I don't think I'll be continuing the series, at least not for now.

This was more comedic than I was expecting. Fun, even if the plot is annoyingly opaque at points. Also, in a pinch, this could work as a #standalone.

One weird James Bond #retelling. Very deliberate. Very literal.

A huge plus: contains Bond girls being awesome in... yyy... surprising ways.

Uni is over for the semester so I can start devouring my TBR pile. This book, however, I finished a few weeks ago by committing to reading a chapter of a book every morning. I enjoyed it; James Bond meets Lovecraft, what‘s not to like. Sorry about the filter but it was the best Bond one I could find in a hurry.
