A heartwarming and charming debut novel about family, friends, and finding your voice all wrapped up in a warm tortilla. Estefania "Stef" Soto is itching to shake off the onion-and-cilantro embrace of Tia Perla, her family's taco truck. She wants nothing more than for Papi to get a normal job and for Tia Perla to be a distant memory. Then maybe everyone at school will stop seeing her as the Taco Queen. But when her family's livelihood is threatened, and it looks like her wish will finally come true, Stef surprises everyone (including herself) by becoming the truck's unlikely champion. In this fun and heartfelt novel, Stef will discover what matters most and ultimately embrace an identity that even includes old Tia Perla.

I loved this sweet story! I read it because it was on my daughter‘s school reading list, and it did not disappoint. Stef is a likeable gal pal for young readers and I love the themes around family and doing the right thing. Enjoy!

Enjoyed!
Stef's dad owns a taco truck and she's embarrassed. But when his business is threatened she finds herself trying to save it. I thought it was a cute quick read about family and identity.

Short and sweet book about a girl who wants her parents to give her more independence and is embarrassed by her dad's food truck. Warning: may induce taco and burrito cravings 🌮🌯

Very sweet and quick read. Loved the food descriptions and the Spanish throughout. The first 100 pages were a little dull for me through. #TeachersofLitsy #middlegrade #weneeddiversebooks

My library book situation is ridiculous, to be quite frank. Going to take the next hour to dip into some books and try to decide if I actually want to read them right now.

A middle-grade girl and her friends deal with problems like middle-graders do. Stef's family owns a food truck and she's embarrassed by it.
