Well, I've been having a bad week, but yesterday I finished up my reread of Murder on the Flying Scotsman. I forgot this was the book where Alec and Daisy get closer.

Almost a shame that minor characters like Judith, Raymond and Chandra never come back into the books (at least not the ones I've read). Dunn has a gift for minor characters you can root for.

shanaqui Also, now it's looking too ambitious, but at the start of this week I was thinking of going for two lines in #BookSpinBingo, and reading Witchmark, The Story of Silence, Hither, Page, The Sugared Game and Maelstrom. So I've still put this in on the free space in that second line, but I'm going to focus on Witchmark and The Story of Silence first! 3y
rabbitprincess I have Witchmark in my read-soon pile! I got it as part of the Tor.com ebook bundle last momth. Will be interested to know what you think 😊 3y
shanaqui @rabbitprincess It's actually a reread for me! I enjoyed it but I think I read it at the wrong time, so I didn't appreciate it as much as I thought I would. Hence the reread! 3y

Days are mostly being spent frantically cleaning/reorganising the flat after a surprise inspection announced by our landlord, so I'm turning to a reread. The Daisy Dalrymple books have such a comforting formula.

Sometimes I have to use video games to help me calm down enough so that I can read. The only problem is that games can take up more of my time than I realize. I‘m still enjoying this cozy mystery in which Daisy Dalrymple finds herself stuck in the midst of a family fighting over an inheritance on the train when a murder happens. The only thing I‘ve already figured out is that my popcorn bowl will be empty! ☺️😋🔍

Kenyazero I always lose myself in games longer than anticipated. It's great that playing helps you feel more calm. What are you playing lately? 4y
Lreads @Kenyazero I‘ve been on a Minecraft kick lately. Just exploring and feeding the animals! I also play Animal Crossing New Horizons and puzzle games like The Last Campfire. What do you like to play? ☺️ 4y
Kenyazero @QuietlyLaura Those are all very cozy and fun! I haven't played Minecraft in a while, I should get back into it! Recently I've been playing Horizon Zero Dawn, Animal Crossong NH, Pokemon Sword/Shield, and Mario 3D. They're all very easy to get lost in! 4y

My afternoon consists of French Vanilla tea and the 4th Daisy Dalrymple mystery. This series set in 1920‘s England is a lot of fun. Daisy is delightful! 🔍

Book 4 of the Daisy Dalrymple series is reminiscent of Agatha Christie, mixed with a tiny bit of Phryne Fisher and Her Royal Spyness. In other words, it‘s the perfect cozy mystery series for me! We get to spend some time with Alec‘s daughter, Belinda, and I love his and Daisy‘s blossoming romance. I quite enjoyed this one and will definitely read more in the series! 4⭐️

Book 4 in the Daisy Dalrymple Series. This is a nice cozy series and this was no exception. We got to get to know Alec Fletcher‘s daughter, Belinda, and see Alec as a father and not just a Scotland Yard Chief Inspector.

I absolutely love the covers of the Daisy Dalrymple series! They're so much better in print form, my eraeder is a kobo and doesn't have a colour screen so the pictures are b/w, the colours in these makes them so much prettier. Very Art Deco! I'm gonna have to get the whole series in book form before they change the damn covers, like what's happened with a few of my series. #daisysdarlings

Jess_Read_This These are gorgeous! 8y
JazzFeathers Pretty darn good covers, l agree :) 8y
Verity I have them all on my kindle, and the first in print as well and I keep having to resist the urge to buy the rest in paperback too! 8y

"I didn't know there was going to be a murder, so I was reading and didn't take much notice," Kitty said with regret.
