Phryne goes on a getaway to stay with rich people à la Agatha Christie with her Chinese paramour Lin Chung. They have to deal with racism against Lin and a disappearing dead body along the way. Love this series. 5⭐️

I devoured this series. I have learned so much about 1920s India from reading about a female barrister. Women issues, which are worldwide, but seems so much worse in these books because of the different traditions. In this book, women healthcare, or the lack of it, is brought to the front. It's cleverly written. The way that Perveen handles herself in a man's world is brilliantly constructed. And, I have to wait till April for the next one.

Listening to this while cooking tonight. An enjoyable “cozy” set in post WWI countryside. A nice break from the intensity of the last two Joyce Ellis audio novels.

Very much enjoyed this one, as usual with KJ Charles' books. The ending felt... maybe a little too swift, and I'd have liked them to meet a few more times before concluding that it's love, but I did like Joel and Aaron's connection.
And look! I managed a blackout on my self-assigned mini-bingo, on day 5/5.
(Technically after day 5 was over, but it's not tomorrow until I've been to sleep, that's the rule.)
Was in the mood for a cosy mystery, so I thought I'd get back to rereading this series. I'm not sure if I'll keep the books once I've worked my way through the whole thing; I like Daisy well enough, but I'm not sure I'll reread again in future, tbh. So much reliance on coincidence in every book, it just doesn't quite sit right.
Which is not to say it's not fun! Just not a permanent keeper, perhaps.
