Was in the mood for a cosy mystery, so I thought I'd get back to rereading this series. I'm not sure if I'll keep the books once I've worked my way through the whole thing; I like Daisy well enough, but I'm not sure I'll reread again in future, tbh. So much reliance on coincidence in every book, it just doesn't quite sit right.

Which is not to say it's not fun! Just not a permanent keeper, perhaps.

4⭐️ Really enjoyed this book. Even though it felt like it dragged in places, the story kept moving forward and I felt like I understood Auntie Em more. #2025 #greatdepression #historicalfiction #1920s #fiction

The main character seemed slightly less impetuous in this one. It was still quite unrealistic to the time period.

uncommonlycozies Are these the inside pages to your 1920‘s fashion book? I wasn‘t expecting it to be so saturated with color! I love it 3mo
RowReads1 @uncommonlycozies I was surprised at how lovely the pictures are. It makes a great coffee table book. and there‘s one for 30‘s and 40‘s. 3mo

This Golden Age crime novel from 1923 is a weak pick. The plot is not terribly plausible and there is a lot of melodrama but I still enjoyed the story.

LeahBergen Just like her other one that I read! 😆 4mo
kwmg40 @LeahBergen Yes, there was a lot of melodrama in that one too! Despite the eye-rolling moments, I'm willing to read more Annie Haynes. Her novels are definitely entertaining. 4mo

4.75⭐️ I really liked this one. I found it to be a nice light, but in-depth read. Quite enjoyable. #2025 #bookreview #fiction #1920s #hea #historicalfiction #romance #oldercharacters #magicalrealism
