January 2017 was a slow month. I didn't have as much reading time as I had hoped for, but I started lots of interesting books, bought more new (e)books than I intended, started re-reading some classics on #serialreader and am participating in some challenges (#LitsyAtoZ, #hpchapteraday, #readJanuary).
Hour 19 :D At this rate I'll have time for fiddle practice this evening possibly!

Book number two here I come! #shelfie #24in48 #24in48readathon
This novel had been on my #ebookreader, and hence on my #TBR, for much too long.
It was slow at the start and I was about to give up, when it started to pick up speed.
Annoying were typos, repeated words, grammar slips, some strangely placed sentence stress.
3.5/5 stars
Which one to pick next? #LitsAtoZ
Starting the day in a café, after a doctor's appointment. Could be worse.
And now we're picking up the pace.
Lots of typos, repeated words ("And we then we went ...") and some switching from the past tense use into present tense. So mainly, a good editing could have avoided these.
Sorry, but I tend to notice such things and then they annoy me. Am I the only one.
This is very slow going. First I thought it was just the style, now I am no longer so sure it is "just" the style I am having problems with. I think I was hoping for more #action, but it's a #murdermystery set in the early Elizabethan times (Elizabeth I, that is), there won't be any fingerprint analysis or spectroscopy of minute evidence.
Still, now that Dr Dee and I have found the first corpse, I need to read on.
It's a good thing Dr Dee loves books. According to his mother, he either has his nose in the stars or in his books.
