pickAnd I continue to clear up my Edelweiss TBR backlist (although I keep adding more books, so...)! I think I put off Witchtown because the cover seemed more MG than YA, but it's definitely a YA story, and a good one. Macie and her mom are the witch version of grifters, riding into towns just to rob them. But Witchtown feels different to Macie, and it's here she must learn to tap into her power and make a stand. Really liked this!

so-soI liked the story but it took 100 pages to get into. The writing style was inconsistent alternating between run on sentences and fragments. Some of the characters reactions were simply too dramatic. The antagonist spills her guts, explaining her plan at the end too willingly. The transitions between past and present were sloppy. Overall, an easy read but I could not sense the author's passion in her writing.
so-soHighly enjoyable, but there are 2 or 3 blatant internal inconsistencies that bothered me. I'm not super observant or good at remembering details, so if I noticed they were OBVIOUS, but overall very enjoyable. Read it in 2 days at the bookstore 😂
pickGreat, complex main character and I loved the minor characters as well. The town had potential to be awesome (tho the name was silly) but never quite delivered. Hopefully it will be expanded in future books? I enjoyed the magic and the modern pagan touches. Fun, fast paced story. At times sad or suspenseful, but mostly light and sweet. #friendship #witches #ya #yafantasy
