I think this was a fine whodunnit. I had a knee jerk reaction every time one of the villains used the N-word. The white supremacist bad guys threw the word around in public. I‘ve been around when that sort of thing happened and it is not pleasant. I don‘t know if the author felt it was important to have the villains use because she wanted to make things realistic. She‘s a Southerner and so am I. It is, unfortunately, very realistic. Cautiously rec

Did not enjoy this quite as much as the first but still a really solid murder mystery. This time the story feels a bit bigger as it brings in more of the town, expanding the world of ‘Shakespeare‘. I continue to really like Lily who is unapologetically herself.

Second in the Lily Bard Mystery series - not as entertaining as Aurora Teagarden or Sookie Stackhouse this series feels as though Harris deliberately leaves out details to make things more mysterious. Hopefully they improve as I move through the series. #24-2022

I‘ve been enjoying Charlaine Harris‘s mystery series. The protagonist in this series is Lily Bard, a single woman who lives in a town called Shakespeare! She has an interesting past and, like it or not, winds up being involved in murder mysteries in this quaint town. The recurring characters and story lines are like an old friend. SeaToSkyes The Aurora Teagarden series is great, too! I love Charlaine Harris; Midnight, Texas is my favorite series.

This week, I needed to mix up my audio books. I chose the first two of the Lily Bard series. I love what a badass Lily becomes. I had a life changing experience happen a couple years ago. Lifetime movie approved experience. So I can relate to flipping and reversing a bad situation 👏🏼👏🏼
