I got book mail today! And once I finish the Edward III biography, I‘m going to read about this amazingly strong woman who is perhaps my 21x great grandmother. 👸

Another wonderful researched book of Weir's. I cannot get enough of her writing.

Eleanor of Aquitaine has fascinated me for years. That plus Weir's detailed research and the interesting way she relates history makes this a pick for me.

1. All, though historical fiction needs to be up to a high standard
2. Yes
3. Medieval- I read a ton about the Tudor period
4. Eleanor of Aquitaine, I love how much she broke the mold
Listening to a podcast about Eleanor and really need to read more. As is usually the case!
I'm slowly making progress on the 2017 Reading Challenge! #readingchallenge #2017readingchallenge
Weir's biography of Eleanor of Aquitaine does a brilliant job of portraying her life in a fair and balanced way, unlike many other works that seek to malign her or idolize her. I liked how Weir addressed myths, rumors, and unverifiable claims about Eleanor and her family, explaining the origins and depictions of each and summing up their veracity. After reading this book, I want to read more of Weir's biographies.#timetravelingbookclub #biography
Reading #outside on this lovely February afternoon.
That's a difficult task! Maybe the challenge should be to list what we DON'T like to read😉 Here are a couple shelves of my Medieval & Renaissance English history collection.
