I'm catching up on the work of Alabama's newest, youngest, and first non-white Poet Laureate.

The poems in this book are as beautiful as the cover. I love to hear things from different perspectives, and since this book deals with subject matter that doesn't come up for me, it was a wonderful, insightful book of poetry to make me think.
