Movie: Wind River
I mainly picked this up because of the adapted television series on AMC. It takes some getting into, the book and the book series as a whole. His description of the Native American life and cultures, Navajo and Hopi Indians were authentic and endearing. Definitely something I need to start from the beginning.
I only finished two books this week, the tagged & The Horologicon, but I did stay on track with my four chapter-a-day books (Culture Smart: Pakistan, Persuasion, Emily of New Moon, & Half-Blood Prince). I did not achieve my page goal for #LitsySummerCamp but still have a great time seeing everyone's posts & participating when I could. Thanks so much for hosting @ImperfectCJ - this was SUCH a fun idea!!!
#Light #oppositeday An early Hillerman works for this prompt, think it‘s his 5th in the series of Leaphorn & Chee mysteries.
#windinthetitle #voicesonthewind Hillermans Jim Chee and Joe Leaphorn mysteries are a door into the southwest. Hillerman would be the first to admit he was not an expert on Navajo or Hopi culture, he spent enough time in New Mexico to realize it would be a joy to bring a little beauty of the southwest to the mystery genre while shedding a little light on native culture and tribal law enforcement.Tony wrote 18,his daughter Anne has written 3.
So wind came to mind first thing with the #weather prompt. I absolutely love Tony Hillerman and Jim Chee is one of my favorite characters. #AprilBookShowers
