2✨ I figured out that this was the 22nd book in the series after I started reading it. There is a lot of character development that I missed, and they mention a lot of different cases throughout. There was also a few murders and I don‘t think anything was really resolved by the end. I get that there is more books in the series after, but feel each individual story should have a set end with resolution. Unhauling this #roll100

5feet.of.fury 😂I was going to say that I didn‘t know you were reading these and then I read your review lol I‘m up to book 20. the series as a whole is hit or miss and Scarpetta/Marino/Lucy have so much baggage and it‘s not always consistent. I wish she did the books more episodic/stand-alone too. 1d

Roary47 @5feet.of.fury That‘s good to know. I‘m going to try to start at the beginning. There were a lot of good scenes, but I was just so confused. Do you need this one? 1d
5feet.of.fury @Roary47 I already own it, thanks tho! 1d

All I have to say is the ending better not mean what I think it does 🤣. Ok, the bad guy/girl has returned from the past and there‘s lots of twists.

I have been a huge Cornwell and Dr Jay Scarpetta fan since the very first book. That being said, it's been a while since I have read anything from the series, but I do still buy them as soon as they release and then pop them in my TBR. So many reviews for this book were negative and whilst it's not my favourite most captivating book of this series it's still a great read.I loved getting back into some Scarpetta, Bentley, Lucy and Marino action⭐⭐⭐

The book section at goodwill is like a paradise for me. I never come home from goodwill without a decent stack of books to add to my library. #thrifty

Just got a Costco card, and I spend money on books!! I LOVE Patricia Cornwell and it's been so long since I have read a Kay Scarpetta mystery. But reading this feels like I am coming home.

Dmbulan I finally finished this today! I loved most of it, but there were parts that were so technical that I felt completely lost and disinterested. The ending was rather abrupt, then the Epilogue picks up a week later. It was the climax of the plot followed by an ending, but no real downward action 😕 9y

If you love Cornwell like I do then you know Dr. Kay Scarpetta doesn't lose her edge, still as sharp and engaging as ever!
