Since this isn't released and she sent a copy for preordering I decided to drop everything and be completely enthralled with a Lacey Flint short story! Of course the queen messes with you and things are never as they appear, I am left craving more! Why, Sharon Bolton, why?!? She's amazing!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is how we do rainy Sundays.
"The river spoke to her in the darkness, as her dreams turned into nightmares in which water was all around her and the weed and the mud was clinging, pulling her down. It told her then that she would never be free, that one day it would come for her, and the next time there would be no escape."
"If passers-by were curious enough to find a way inside, they'd see that, tardis-like, the interior is so much bigger than its external framework suggests..."
A Doctor Who reference in my thriller. I'm delighted.
Like many of you, I didn't think I would ever cave to an #ereader but here we are! I still prefer paper but it's nice to travel with an iPad. It also holds all my knitting PDF patterns, so that's a win-win!
Seeing all your posts, however, I might have to cave and get a dedicated #ereader, as my iPad can be a little awkward.
#SeasonsReadings 2016
Another wild ride! This one felt like there was less edge-of-your-seat tension throughout as the other ones in the series but it was still an interesting story and a satisfying mystery (once again, the resolution completely surprised me). I'm hoping this isn't the last book featuring these characters because I'm kind of attached now.
Lacey Flint is a terrifically written, complex character.
