I (and members of my family) struggle with multiple autoimmune diseases. I have Hashimoto‘s with Adrenal Fatigue. They are called invisible illnesses because you don‘t “look” sick. Sometimes you think it‘s all in your head and most people don‘t understand. This page made me realize that I am not going crazy, but also that I do have to act before it gets much worse. I‘m reading this book to help me make necessary lifestyle changes.

dariazeoli I have Hashi‘s as well. This post was very timely. Thanks for sharing! And good luck (edited) 7y

julesG Hugs! I know what you're going through. I have Hashimoto's and Multiple Sclerosis. Both invisible diseases causing a rainbow of symptoms that friends and family, and sometimes doctors even, try to talk down. 😶 7y

minkyb Hahimoto‘s was new to me until a dear friend‘s daughter was diagnosed. It took months and months and more months to get a specialist to actually figure it out. Good luck to you. (edited) 7y
jpmcwisemorgan My mom was diagnosed with Hashimoto‘s, as well as various autoimmune diseases. They are definitely real and you‘re not crazy, even if doctors act like you are or people think you can‘t possibly be sick because you don‘t “look” it. Not only are a lot of autoimmune diseases invisible but they‘re cyclical so sometimes you feel ok and other times you can‘t get out of bed. 7y
MaleficentBookDragon My family has cancer on both sides too. It had taken far too long for me to accept that my crappy eating and stressful lifestyle can lead nowhere good. Thank you all for your amazing support. This is yet another reason why Litsy is my happy place. Amazing people and love always. Thank you. @dariazeoli @cobwebmoth @julesG @minkyb @jpmcwisemorgan (edited) 7y

MoMogrl I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's about 8 years ago. Sadly it took about 2 years and surgery to get properly diagnosed. (I had a nodule which required the surgery.) And that is after I started showing symptoms. I probably was having issues for at least 6 years before that but chalked up to puberty. I know it's not balanced and I can't seem to find a good doctor. I think I need to read this book. 7y
