I picked up this manga series because it was sold wrapped in plastic. For those who aren't aware, that's reserved for particularly violent, gory, or sexually charge manga. In other words, it's a way to catch my interest immediately.

The basic premise is that whoever loses the vote has to die, but the ways of voting grow more and more intense and convoluted as the class number dwindles. Strong first entry, recommended for horror fans.

bookandcat Sounds a bit like

Battle Royale: Remastered

Regi_C @bookandcat I would argue that Battle Royale is the best of the bunch, but this is basically it's own genre so they always are trying to tie it to more modern/scandalous themes, to varying levels of success 6y

B&N is having a B2G1 free #manga sale. So I looked at my shelf and made a list of what I needed to continue some of my series. Of course I didn't pay attention to the details. At the store I noticed the sale is only for Yen Press and none of the books I wanted are by them. I tried to select some of their books, but my heart was set on my list. I did end up getting vol 1 of Tohyo Game (Yen Press). I still might buy online. Can't resist a good sale!

BekahB @rubyslippersreads thanks! I love the Hello Kitty/monster mash-up! @DiruVamp they're Funko blind boxes. I used to find them in my local Hastings, but now I order them on Amazon. I'm missing 5 from the set. I buy a couple boxes here and there and cross my fingers that I don't get a duplicate. 7y
