Mehso-so

This was such a tough book to finish. The change in storylines made it hard to keep track of the characters and I was irritated that the title character Ivanhoe was only a minor character until almost the end of the book. I loved the character of Rebecca, though. I think she was really the star of the book!

tournevis I didn't mind it at all, and loved the book as a teen, so I'm thinking translation made it better. 5y

Never have l read a more long winded sequence of pointless monologues as Ivanhoe. I don't care if it's the 13th century, 19th century or a Shonda Rhimes series — no one talks to each other in uninterrupted discourse that spans pages without reputiation by any characters present.

4. I would say Nessie, but she is real. I'll go with Ohio's own Mothman.

TK421 Yes @GondorGirl ! Ohio has a Mothman! It is a large red-eyed otherworldly flying creature that may have collapsed the Silver bridge. There is a statue of it in Gallipolis Ohio, and JT Woodruff of Hawthorne Heights wrote a folk song about it.😀 7y
GondorGirl @TK421 That's amazing! I'll have to do some research on it, because now I'm fascinated! 7y

Seemed a fitting read for a trip up to Edinburgh. Let's hope it helps while away the hours.
