The Scandal of It All
The Scandal of It All: The Rogue Files | Sophie Jordan
8 posts | 14 read | 3 to read
It takes two to make a scandal… What kind of woman ventures into London’s most notorious pleasure club? An outsider like Graciela, the Duchess of Autenberry, snubbed time and time again by society because of her Spanish roots. Ela longs to take a lover for a single, wild night, and within the walls of Sodom there are gentlemen to suit every forbidden taste. If only she were not so drawn to the smoldering Lord Strickland…a dangerous man who sees beyond her mask, and could ruin her reputation with a mere whisper. Lord Strickland never permitted himself to fantasize about the sultry, off-limits lady, but then he never expected to find Ela in a place so wicked, looking for what he’s more than too happy to give. She may not be to the ton’s taste, but she suits him perfectly. First, however, he must convince her to trust in this dangerous desire—and in the promise of forever unleashed by one wild, scandalous night.

A scandal indeed. A widow has some fun with her step son‘s friend. 😳😆 Story moved a little too fast and there wasn‘t enough conflict but it was fun! #bookspinbingo

Another wonderful read. Love that this featured an older woman and younger man.

Read it straight through, though hadn‘t realized it was book 2. Will definitely check out books 1 & 3 sometime.

A Spanish widow who‘s an outcast among the British is pursued by her stepson‘s best friend, who‘s also the object of her stepdaughter‘s crush. Yeah, it‘s complicated. Colin is rather persistent and Ela keeps saying no, but they find their way through all the hurdles, and there are plenty.

4.5 stars ✨ Read it straight through during my flight from Dallas to London. I loved that Sophie broke the norm of historical romances with a Spanish, widowed Duchess getting involved with a younger English lord, who was her stepson's best friend. Ela is a sympathetic heroine, having been a neglected wife, a foreigner who was sneered at by high society for the darkness of her skin and having caught a member of nobility. An enjoyable read.

This one was all right. I found the hero a little bit annoying. I liked the heroine for the most part, except for her insistence that they not be together. I liked how their story resolves. #romantsy #arc

AliBG Oooh. Bummer. I was looking forward to this one. 7y
nitalibrarian @AliBG I definitely liked the 1st book better. And it looks like the 3rd book will be Marcus', which I'm looking forward too. 7y
