Good account but TMI if you just want 1906 SF events only. A lot on plate tectonics, new geology science, and details on the Richter Scale. A bigger quake is coming at any time!

Starting to read about great earthquake of 1906.
I read a bit of nonfiction and drank another latte. A CRACK IN THE EDGE OF THE WORLD hits me kind of odd. It‘s about the social and geographic state of California at the time of the 1906 earthquake, and I find I like the plate tectonics chapters way more than the social history chapters. I keep dipping in and out of it as the mood takes me.
It doesn‘t help that it‘s so. damned. big. Oversized trade paperbacks are the worst. #deweyoct #readathon
Nonfiction + homemade salsa. I can‘t eat round onions, which means I can‘t eat bottled salsa, so my mum dug out this recipe. It‘s full of garlic and lime and tomatoey goodness. Whee!
It‘s too early to say whether I‘ll stick with the book. I put it in my discards pile during a TBR cull because I dislike oversized trade paperbacks, but I decided to give it another go. Physically, it‘s more holdable than I expected, but I‘m iffy on the prose style.

It‘s hard to see in the photo, but this cover actually has cut paper layers for the foreground, which I‘ve not seen before.

Super interesting non fiction about geology. It was about the 1906 earthquake in San Francisco, but it was also about tectonic plates in general and he history of studying earthquakes.
Been sent home early a lot the last 2 weeks, so I've not been going through my audiobook stack as quickly as I should. Gonna try to knock this out this weekend while doing chores.
