Bad Blood: A Memoir | Lorna Sage
Mehso-so

Started really well and strong and very reminiscent for those of us growing up in the British countryside anytime in 50s,60s and 70s but half way in my interest waned , read for my village bookclub and most of the group gave up , only a few made it to the end . A ground breaking memoir ? Not really but interesting in parts and well written just extremely sad that such a brilliant lady should die so young

Definitely won‘t get this read in time for next weeks author event to celebrate the books 20th anniversary - but looking forward to spending time with this memoir of brave and strong women in rural Wales. #bookmail #nfn2020

This is billed as one of the most groundbreaking memoirs of all time. I‘ve not read it and I‘m pretty new to memoirs - so seems like a good place to start. And the authors doing a live event (free) next week too!

This is a brilliant memoir of a young girl/woman who grows up in postwar Shropshire in a bizarre family to achieve a degree after a teenage pregnancy and became an astonishing literary critic.

I thought id go for 2 bks on my shelf that apply. Catcher in the rye is probably too obvious but ive read it twice, once around when i was a teen and i thought wow, but 20 yrs later felt less amazing.
The lorna sage is a brilliantly written memoir of a girl growing up in Shropshire in 40s/50s much as a teenager and she is suitably rebellious. A highly recommended read.

Cinfhen That's often the case... a book that charmed you as a tween/teen doesn't live up to the memory when you read it again as an adult ☹️ 7y
andrew61 @Cinfhen that's probably why i don't reread very much. 7y
