I got out of the house today and took Arthur to the bosque. He couldn‘t even wait for me to get to a less muddy part of the river before jumping in! The area I went to had a really bad fire quite a few years ago and a local artist made a bunch of wood carvings out of the tree stumps that were left behind. It‘s really beautiful and one of my favorite places in my city.

julesG That looks very interesting. Thanks for checking in with us. 5y
LibrarianJen Also if anyone needs a middle grade book for #BBRC the tagged book is really good. I think It would count for the “own voices” prompt. @LibrarianRyan @Blaire 5y

LibrarianJen @julesG @britt_brooke @wanderinglynn @Reecaspieces @imabusybee I forgot to say that this is the Rio Grande River. There are nature trails all along it including a 16 mile bike path that goes from one end of the city to the other. 💖 5y

Here is a short stack of some of my diverse reads. Growing up in New Mexico we read a lot of stories about the southwest, and how all our different cultures have blended together over time. Sometimes I feel like I'm in a cultural bubble, blessed to live in such a uniquely diverse area. ##WeNeedDiverseBooks #24in48

ValerieAndBooks I have the Ten Little Rabbits book in the background! My sister is in NM and it was a gift for my kids many years ago. 7y
LibrarianJen @ValerieAndBooks it's a cute book! This was in a stack of children's books my Aunt gave me when she retired teaching. 7y
