6 posts | 5 read | 11 to read
A classic short story collection from the writer called Sweden's Stephen King that continues the breathtaking story begun in the internationally acclaimed classic Let the Right One In Because of the two superb films made of John Ajvide Lindqvist's vampire masterpiece Let the Right One In, millions of people around the world know the story of Oskar and Eli and of their final escape from Blackeberg at the end of the novel. Now at last, in "Let the Old Dreams Die," the title story in this absolutely stunning collection, we get a glimpse of what happened next to the pair. Fans of Let the Right One In will have to read the story, which is destined to generate much word of mouth both among fans and online. "Let the Old Dreams Die" is not the only stunner in this collection. In "Final Processing," Lindqvist also reveals the next chapter in the lives of the characters he created in Handling the Undead. "Equinox" is a story of a woman who takes care of her neighbor's house while they are away and readers will never forget what she finds in the house. Every story meets the very high standard of excellence and fright factor that Lindqvist fans have come to expect. Totally transcending genre writing, these are world class stories from possibly the most impressive horror writer writing today.

If you don‘t already know, there‘s never been a better time to learn. Daddy Lindqvist is top 5 contemporary writers for me and this Lovecraftian collection of graphic, emotional, eerie, slow burn is the cats pajamas. Don‘t make me pick a favorite short here. I love them all!

Here is Let the Old Dreams Die, by John Ajvide Lindquist, who you may know more as the writer who brought us the wonderful Let The Right One In, which is one of my all time favourite, most chilling and most touching vampire stories.

If you ever wondered what happened to Oskar and Eli from that story, you can find out here in this collection of stories about love and death, and what happens when the two collide. Haunting, poignant and chilling.

Ok who knew that a sequel to Let The Right One In existed????? Not me! But I‘m excited to read it!👏👏👏

KathyWheeler I had no idea this book was a sequel to anything. I‘ve read Let the Right One In but not the other ones mentioned so I guess I can‘t read this until I read the others. 7y

Sooo, I am way behind on reading and Litsy -blame moving last weekend 📦and traveling over the past couple days! Good thing is, I did some reading on the plane and have some new ammo for the challenges! This collection of #shortstories was a nice pick for #booktober day 17, at least. Not many were terribly scary, but they were all interesting and a few chilling. I enjoyed the follow-up for Let the Right One in, and the Moomintroll shout out most.

RealLifeReading Nice!! 8y
