I read this in my early college years and although I remembered it was good, I didn‘t remember the plot much. Turns out 10 years later, it wasn‘t as good as I thought. It fast moving, but parts of it seem scattered. The pieces that should tie together don‘t ever, really and then the ending was just like poof, book done. So, eh.

This started off really tense. It slowed down in the middle, though there were definitely some surprises thrown in there. Although the end ramped up again somewhat with a race against time, it didn‘t pull me back in like I was pulled in at the start, but I‘m not sure why that was. I did listen to the audio, and for the most part it kept my attention.

A page turner and intense, this Dean Koontz thriller takes the reader on a desperate ride with a husband determined to save his wife. So much goes wrong, there are unexpected twists, and the reader is left a little breathless. And then it‘s over. The ending left me wanting just a little more detail. Overall, a good thriller without the supernatural element in so many Koontz novels. ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Second book finished for #jubilantjuly @Andrew65

I need to seriously step up if I am going to meet my goal of finishing this book plus The Little Giant of Aberdeen County and a total of 15 hours by Monday. I am at 7hrs 55mins. Fridays are usually my day off, but we‘ve been too busy so I worked all day today. Just picking up my book for the first time today. It is definitely a page turner, full of suspense. Hoping to finish it tonight or early tomorrow morning. #jubilantjuly ❤️📚

Reading in the morning, when the house is quiet, is my favorite. Kids are still in bed, hubby is working remotely downstairs, I don‘t have to be at my desk until 10am this morning. ❤️📚🙂

After a busy work day and a nice walk with the dogs, my hubby and 2 of our kids, I am spending my evening relaxing with a glass of wine and getting some time in for #jubilantjuly. I‘m 5hrs and 24mins into my 15 hour goal for the Readathon. During the week I don‘t always get an hour of reading in per day, so the weekend will be for making up lost time. ❤️📚🙂

Mehso-so

So I normally enjoy Dean Koontz but this book was kind of a so-so for me. It had a twist that shook me early on which was fun. And the pace was fast with one crazy thing after another. But the ending was pretty unsatisfying. Kinda feel like the direct aftermath wasn‘t really addressed. And the last chapter was an epilogue of sorts.

Got another #bookspin under my belt anyway @TheAromaofBooks

Good thriller!

RadicalReader @guinsgirlreads I have read this book and throughly loved it and looked forward to scouring the shelves for more gems of his 6y
guinsgirlreads @RadicalReader The 3rd of his Jane Hawk novels comes out in May.. I‘d like to read those three! 6y
Kaye This reminds me of that old movie when Bette Midler gets kidnapped. When her kidnappers call her husband for ransom, he keeps saying it‘s too high, so they keep calling him to lower the price. She says IVE BEEN KIDNAPPED BY KMART 😁 (edited) 6y
guinsgirlreads @Kaye lol 😆 I‘ve never seen it, but I know what you mean! 6y

This was an enjoyable read. For a thriller, it was a little slow in spots but I still read it quickly. I‘m thinking this may not have been the best Koontz book to start with though. Any suggestions on which of his books to read next?

JanuarieTimewalker13 Intensity scared me so much, I never went back for more. That‘s the only DK book I‘ve read and most likely will ever read. Lol 6y
Paula3 I loved so many of them, but really flew through the Frankenstein series. 6y
