She‘ll do anything in a last ditch effort to stay up later than she should. Last night it was asking to read for a bit. How can I say no to that?!? We found this series on Thursday and she‘s already almost done with number four. I love that she‘s into reading. I love that she‘s excited about her library reading log. I love that she‘s excited to go to the library. I love my little reader ❤️

I am very honoured to once again serve as Second Round Judge for CYBILS (Children‘s and Young Adult Bloggers‘ Literary Awards) - this time for the easy reader/chapter book category. Going through this stack of finalists for 2017. All books have been hunted down from our libraries here in Singapore. :)

5⭐????THIS SERIES GIVES ME LIFE!!! I vow as a children's librarian to recommend this series to every child who asks me " Do you have any books you would recommend?" Do I ??!! Oh yes, yes I do. This is going up there in the Short Chapters with Junie B Jones, and the Magic Tree House books.

The Princess in Black is exhausted! Battling monsters all night makes getting enough sleep impossible... Happily, the Goat Avenger suggests a beach vacation... what could go wrong?

I thought the illustrations in this book were even better than usual! I liked the sweet notes of friendship in this story - everyone was looking out for each other 👍 and that's a mindset we should be encouraging!

The fourth in the series and just as engaging as the others. My niece was very happy to get it this Christmas, and I was very happy to read it to her! #kidlit #princessinblack #shannonhale

I have heard great things about the Princess in Black series and this book did not disappoint. It has action/adventure, girl power, and goats! (This household loves goats; we have three!)
Loved the story line and illustrations. We'll definitely check out the rest of the books in the series!

A few of Haven's library picks this week!

It's possible that my squeal alarmed my co-workers today when I pulled this out of the Ingram book box at the library.

We all (son and husband too) love the Princess in Black series at my house. Tonight all of us snuggled together and I read it out loud. This one might be our favorite yet, but it's hard to pick.

This is a delightful read-aloud, or a great first chapter book for a new reader. Either way it's a hit.
