Psychological Types
Psychological Types | Carl Jung
7 posts | 6 read | 6 to read
Psychological Types is one of Jung's most important and famous works. First published in English by Routledge in the early 1920s it appeared after Jung's so-called fallow period, during which he published little, and it is perhaps the first significant book to appear after his own confrontation with the unconscious. It is the book that introduced the world to the terms 'extravert' and 'introvert'. Though very much associated with the unconscious, in Psychological Types Jung shows himself to be a supreme theorist of the conscious. In putting forward his system of psychological types Jung provides a means for understanding ourselves and the world around us: our different patterns of behaviour, our relationships, marriage, national and international conflict, organizational functioning. This Routledge Classics edition includes a new foreword by John Beebe.

BarbaraTheBibliophage Yaaassss! Also, add in some excitement at having insomnia and therefore, more time with said book. 4y
JamieArc I think one of the most disappointing things about getting older for me is that I can‘t hold out as long at night as I could when I was younger. My eyes don‘t make it as long 👀🥱😴😂 4y

Ddzmini @JamieArc if it‘s a book I‘ve been waiting for I can read it straight through... if it‘s a new read no I‘m in bed no later than 10-11pm but I‘m really tired... if I read any later then that I‘m tired but can‘t sleep 📚😳🙌🏽 4y

See what I mean 🧐🙌🏽

Mistermandolin Brilliant insight, lucidly expressed. Anthony Storr once remarked that he‘d never read anybody more ‘hamstrung‘ by his use of language than Jung. I disagree. To me, he‘s always been positively luminous - as he is here. 4y

Every time I read Jung I get really excited because he has such great quotes and thinking abilities, which enhance all (or most) of his theories 🥰📖🙌🏽

I‘m am so in psychology right now my mind is taking on new paths to quantify how the individual acquires a type 🧐🤪📖 ... it‘s also why I am not getting any other reading done right now and why I‘ve been so busy lately that I‘ve missed a couple of days in Litsy 😳😲

Suet624 I would have to read that section of text 3 times before understanding what the heck they're talking about. 4y
Ddzmini @Suet24 it‘s a psychology class Hong but it‘s really easy to understand once you know what he‘s talking about 🤗📖 4y
