After I've Gone
After I've Gone: The Emotionally Gripping Thriller That Will Take Your Breath Away! | Linda Green
9 posts | 8 read | 2 to read
'One of the best books I've ever read!' Amazon reviewer. An emotional new psychological thriller from the #1 bestselling author of While My Eyes Were Closed. YOU HAVE 18 MONTHS LEFT TO LIVE . . . On a wet Monday in January, Jess Mount checks Facebook and discovers her timeline appears to have skipped forward 18 months, to a day when shocked family and friends are posting heartbreaking tributes to her following her death in an accident. Jess is left scared and confused: is she the target of a cruel online prank or is this a terrifying glimpse of her true fate? Amongst the posts are photos of a gorgeous son she has not yet conceived. But when new posts suggest her death was deliberate, Jess realises that if she changes the future to save her own life, the baby boy she has fallen in love with may never exist.

You know when you pick up a book by Linda Green you won‘t be disappointed and yet again she grabs you at the beginning of the book and keeps you hooked right to that last page. This book is one you don‘t want to turn the last page on.

Brought back my joy of a good book

The premise of this story sounded very interesting to me—A young woman starts seeing Facebook posts 18 months into the future where she learns that she is married, has a baby, and then dies. Unfortunately, the story did not deliver on that interesting setup. There were certain “rules” that were established earlier in the book that suddenly were broken in the end. Disappointing overall but at least it‘s one less unread book in my Kindle library.

I'm so torn about this book. There were so many frustrating parts to the story that drove me insane. I honestly couldn't find a character I actually liked, they were all so weak and majorly flawed.

The best part was the end- not because it was the end but because it was the only part of the story that showed some promise.

Fabulous book, such an interesting idea. There have been lots of ‘sneak peek into the future‘ stories but this is the first one I have read involving future Facebook posts. The metamorphosis of disbelief to dawning realization of the truth is skillfully done and Jess‘ ultimate decision had me applauding her gumption. Linda Green is an author to watch.
