Tuesday's Child | Anya Mora
Pickpick

Loved the way this book was written. So much thought having gone into writing about the adoption of a lad with trauma and the impact on the family and the boy.

The love between Betsy and her brother

Who would kill a young girl - the fight of a mother to protect her child and grieve the loss another child.

This book was an easy page turner did not want to put it down

This book is much needed. It‘s sheds a light on things a lot of people don‘t want to hear about or don‘t think could possibly happen in this day and age.

The impact of trauma in the moment but also the ongoing impact. Children don‘t always say what‘s going on at home or in groups because they are too scared

Jennie is one courageous woman not from choice but as a necessity for her and her children‘s survival.

Night She Disappeared | Lisa Jewell
Pickpick

Lisa Jewell just gets better. I felt myself rushing to read the page just to be able to find out what was going to happen next. Really felt for Owen where everything just went so wrong. There was just so much depth to this story. It was one of those books where you don‘t want the end to come as you want to see how life continues

When They See Me | Gill Perdue

Enjoyable read. Felt engaged with the characters. Certainly felt for Laura with the pull between motherhood and her love of her job.

Not wanting to give anything away with the storyline. I did have an inkling about what would happen in the middle to the last part of the book but this did not distract from wanting to finish the book and enjoying it

Wow is all I can say. This book is brilliant. I was pulled into the story on page one. The characters are so detailed and as you read the author gives you the connection with another character and it all makes a little more sense. This book gives and gives till the closing chapter. Loved it

Day One | Abigail Dean
Pickpick

This is the first book I have read by Abigail dean and will certainly look out for her next book.

It starts with a school shooting and slowly over the course of the book the events of the day and also the events after unfold.

The characters come to life through the pages with little details added throughout the book which add depth.

Really good read about a town sone characters within the town and what happened on and after day one

The Orpheus Project | Valerie Sinason
Pickpick

This book is so well written. Although written in fiction it shines a light on what could happen. The story of a family within the aristocracy. It does not matter how wealthy you are things happen that society does not want to hear about. It‘s frightening knowing what could lie below the surface. It would be lovely to follow Rose and the other characters in the book. Left me wanting to know more. Does Rose break free

You know when you pick up a book by Linda Green you won‘t be disappointed and yet again she grabs you at the beginning of the book and keeps you hooked right to that last page. This book is one you don‘t want to turn the last page on.

Brought back my joy of a good book

I Did It for You | Amy Engel
Pickpick

This book kept me engaged from start to finish. It was important for Greer to return to her family home to understand more about what happened to her sister. This is a story around so many things. The murder of a sister, the impact on the family and also the town as a whole and about friendship and love. The ending I did not see coming. Definitely an author I will follow

For anyone that wants to understand DID or the impact of trauma either being a survivor of abuse or a therapist working in this area I cant rate this book highly enough. The book looks more at recovery and the obstacles survivors face daily rather than going into the abuse itself.

DID is still misrepresented by media and this book shows the real world for someone who is a multiple

Thank you for being so open and honest in your account.

An amazing book for psychotherapists working with clients with DID. This gives an insight into the world of DID and shows the importance the the therapeutic relationship. Also good for people with DID it can be a scary journey but this book can make it a little less so. There are good people out there. This book captures a truly amazing journey for both therapist and client. Thank you for the generosity and courage in sharing this journey

This is probably the first book I have wanted to read while also needing to have my eyes shut to some of the scenes being described. iris has a huge strength of character throughout the book and grasped what she wanted from life without conforming to the expected. The characters come alive and you live some and hate some in equal measure. Definitely worth the read and opens up discussion

The Moment She Left | Susan Lewis
Pickpick

A really good read. I found it a bit difficult at the beginning to get a grip on the characters as in how they all related to each other and who was with who but when u got it I was hooked. The story starts two tears previously after the disappearance of Jessica and slowly you gain an understanding of how that event has a bearing in the characters today. Rowzee who is a strong central charecter throughout is just so real and adorable 💜

BLOOD ORANGE. | HARRIET. TYCE
Pickpick

Pure brilliance. On the surface Alison has everything a family money and a good career. But it‘s what lurks under that. Harriet tyce has created a very real character in Alison she is not perfect by any stretch but who is. The subject matter is powerful and shows how easy gaslighting and emotional abuse happens. There is almost three stories in one a very powerful thought provoking gritty read

Reagan I read this last week and I agree! Very enjoyable! 4y

Mehso-so

Having loved our house I had high hope for those people. Unfortunately I was left wanting more. This was an ok read but it did take me a while. Lowland way sound the perfect place to live until Darren and his partner move in. Suddenly there is noise and renovations and altercations. This could not possibly end well. Friendships in the road are challenged as neighbours deal or don‘t deal with their frustrations

It‘s always good to come across an author that excites you. The housemate was brilliant from start to finish. Megan and Chloe have been friends from uni and move in together but need a housemate Sammi to share the cost. The saying three is a crowd comes to mind and it not harmonious. Friendships are tested. I was totally sucked in to the story and thought I had an idea of the end. How wrong could I have been.
