More stuff from my dresser! My stepfather used to work in a print shop, and one day he brought me these typesetting letters to spell my name. In case you were wondering, it‘s a little challenging to take a picture of a #reflection #anewchapter

gradcat I love these old typeset tools & blocks...you really should keep them forever...they‘re hard to find anymore. ❤️ 5y

#autumnreads @JoeStalksBeck @Tiffy_Reads

It's barely a #teenspirit but back in the day I read a bunch of these. I don't even know what to call this genre. And wow talk about the epitome of lack of diversity. Cindy maybe comes close because the protagonist moves to a "quaint" town in Mexico where "the Mexican boys love her blonde hair" *eyeroll* (/sarcasm)

Should I be embarrassed by this?

batsy 😁 I hope Suzy became a Somebody on her own terms! 7y
Sace @batsy 😂 7y
SaraPortman I absolutely read some of these, so if it's embarrassing, I'm in the club. 😂Superflirt stand out as a cover I recall. They weren't diverse or deep but they were what my small town library had and I devoured them for a couple of summers in middle school. 7y

Sace @SaraPortman I feel so much better now! Except... I actually own these and have been bringing them with me through life. 😂 In all my moves I never saw fit to get rid of these? 7y
SaraPortman @RestlessFickleBookSlut I'm horrible at donating or otherwise letting go of books, so again, no judgment from me! 7y
Soubhiville I read some of these too. Superflirt is the only title I remember, but I bet I read quite a few of the others. Growing up in a very small town, my summers consisted of several weekly trips to the library to get my max of 10 books, which I'd devour in a few days. These were fun at the time. 7y
Sace @Soubhiville I should reread some of these just for the cringe effect. 😊 7y
Soubhiville @RestlessFickleBookSlut you totally should, and post some quotes about hair tossing and cherry lip gloss 😜 7y
Sace @Soubhiville These are probably match my reading attention level these days. That's not a half bad suggestion. 7y
RebL What a trip down memory lane! 7y
mrp27 Talk about nostalgia! I'm in the club too. Sweet Valley High was the gateway drug into these books. 😜 7y
Sace @RebL I'm reading now. Memory lane with a touch of "wow I read this stuff?" 7y
Sace @mrp27 ??? "gateway drug" 7y
RebL @RestlessFickleBookSlut I may be annoyed with you right now. My TBR is about to topple, but suddenly I have a hankering to lose myself in nostalgia with one of these books. You should host a #LitsyPartyOfOne-style event around the terrible books we loved before we knew better! 7y
Sace @RebL oh no! Please don't be annoyed with me! Hmmm. If I were any kind of organized or creative I would probably do something with that suggestion 😂 7y
RebL Okay, I'll give you a pass on both. Litsy is a place to make friends, after all. 7y
Sace @RebL whew! 😥 I'm thinking hard though! I just can't come up with anything catchy. 7y
Sace @RebL oooo. October can be for #horrifiedreads. We reread books from our childhoods and shudder! 7y
RebL Luv it! 7y
TK-421 Oh, wow! Those 80s teen romance novels! I read a lot of these in my early teens! A few months ago, my mom found a bunch of my old SVH, Seniors, Sisters, Wildfire, etc. and one of them was Christy's Choice--a sequel to Christy, perhaps? The same model was on the cover. If I reread these, I imagine a lot of wincing, but surely there'd be a sense of nostalgia, too. I'd be willing to give it a try if you decide to make an event! 7y
Sace @TK-421 I think it is a sequel. I want to say it was a trilogy (and geez why do I know that?) I really am seriously considering it. With all credit to @Soubhiville and @RebL 😂 7y
RebL I'd be down with leveraging my full 7y
Soubhiville Yep I'm in! See you there @RebL @TK-421 @RestlessFickleBookSlut ! 7y
aprilpohren I remember some of these! I read Cindy and a couple others! @RestlessFickleBookSlut 7y
Sace @aprilpohren I hope you'll join us for #horrifiedreads! 7y
