The Baby-Sitters Club Graphix #2: The Truth About Stacey
The Baby-Sitters Club Graphix #2: The Truth About Stacey | Ann M. Martin, Ann Martin
America's favorite baby-sitters come to life in a new graphic novel series! Poor Stacey. She's moved to a new town. She's still coming to terms with her diabetes. She's facing baby-sitting problems left and right. And her parents are no help. Luckily, Stacey has three new, true friends -- Kristy, Claudia, and Mary Anne. Together they're the BSC -- and they will deal with whatever's thrown their way... even if it's a rival baby-sitting club!

1. I am not named after anyone.
2. I enjoyed The Babysitters Club books when I was a child. It makes sense that they had a character named Stacey in the books; it was a somewhat common name in the 80s. 🙂 (But she doesn't spell her name right. The correct spelling is Stacy 😉)

Whether you‘re looking for lessons in beating your competition in business, being an advocate for your own health, designing a killer Kid Kit, or simply being the best babysitter, you can find it in THE TRUTH ABOUT STACEY. This week on my book pod, I‘m lucky to have food and romance writer Rochelle Bilow to chat about all of it! 👯‍♀️💓 Listen at the link in my bio.

I was so mad on behalf of the BSC about the Babysitter's Agency. How dare those bitches steal their business!! They're not even good babysitters! This book does a nice job balancing that plot and the one with Stacey's parents going overboard with the diabetes care and taking her to a kooky fad doctor! Wtf Mr and Mrs McGill. Stacey indeed proves herself to be very mature, sophisticated, even, as she is repeatedly called (lol even she says it).

Out of the first few BSC books, this was one of my favorites as a kid. It still is! Reading as an adult, I‘m more proud of Stacey taking a strong stance on “my body, my rights”, when dealing with the constant new doctors her parents want her to see.

And the BS Agency, I forgot just how awful they were! I also realized Maya couldn‘t read any of the journal entries because they are in cursive.😬

This was so much fun!

I‘ve been playing around with BookRiot‘s quizzes again. Turns out, I‘m Stacey! She‘s one of my favorite members of the babysitters club. Which one are you?

I like how we get to learn a little more about diabetes and what it means to live with it. Even as a kid, I thought it was interesting. I also liked the whole "babysitting war" that was going on.
