Brother Odd
Brother Odd: An Odd Thomas Novel | Dean Koontz
NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER Loop me in, odd one. The words, spoken in the deep of night by a sleeping child, chill the young man watching over her. For this was a favorite phrase of Stormy Llewellyn, his lost love. In the haunted halls of the isolated monastery where he had sought peace, Odd Thomas is stalking spirits of an infinitely darker nature. As he steadfastly journeys toward his mysterious destiny, Odd Thomas has established himself as one of the most beloved and unique fictional heroes of our time. Now, wielding all the power and magic of a master storyteller at the pinnacle of his craft, Dean Koontz follows Odd into a singular new world where he hopes to make a fresh beginningbut where he will meet an adversary as old and inexorable as time itself.

I feel like I wasted so brain space and time on this book... I like the character Odd Thomas and I always want him to pull through so I forced my way through this book. But my goodness the majority of this book,in my opinion, was rambling... I was so happy to finally get around to figuring out the why's and how's and who's involved in the mystery.
Out of the series I've only liked the first book and I'm hoping rest of the series is better..

I think I'm done with the Odd Thomas books. This one was okay. Just okay. The story is convoluted and unbelievable in many many ways. Elvis is always fun and I appreciate the wit in the book as usual.

Best thing about this book was the existence of Brother Knuckles. Otherwise, it was not good.

Booknerd_76 I agree.. Brother Knuckles and the development of Jacob and Odd's relationship were the best parts of this book.. Well also the dialogue between Odd and Sis Angela and Romanovich 6y

I‘m loving the Odd Thomas series but I have to say this one didn‘t reel me in as much as the others. It‘s still a good book, it just wasn‘t amazing. And Frank Sinatra is here! I can‘t wait to see where this is going.

I think when I‘m done with this book and before I start Odd Hours, I‘m going to read You Are Destined To Be Together Forever because I honestly don‘t get his obsession with Stormy and I‘m pissed Koontz never explored the fact that she got Odd‘s birth mark tattooed on her.

Starting this right now. I want to have the series finished this month.

Guildedearlobe I made it up to odd apocalypse then bailed on the series. I liked the character at first but then was frustrated with Koontz's koontziness. 7y
Sweettartlaura @Guildedearlobe I think I'm gonna power through no matter what. I just want these off my shelves 😜 7y

I will grant that you became remorseful, even contrite, and you did an amazingly generous thing by giving away your fortune, taking vows. You are reformed, you may be a better man, but you are not a different man. Absolution grants you forgiveness for it, but does not expunge the past. The man you were still lives within you, repressed by the man you have struggled to become.

Not the best in the Odd Thomas series in my opinion. I felt it was quite repetitive and overall just dragging out the series. I felt compelled to drop the series several times during this book, but I didn't solely due to outside recommendations that I finish it.
