Want to read more international authors , Amado is from Brazil.I remember liking these Avon covers too.My local used store took about half a bankers box full , but then when I found out they had a buy 3 get the 4th free, went to take another look.Found the lovely Hopkins and (yippee!) a Virago!

My favorite is Dona Flor - this book has everything: love, sex (with a ghost!), cooking school, music, drugs, gambling, Carnival (of course), voodoo - you name it, it's in there and larger than life. It's very well written and a lot of fun to read😊
