Join a tough eleven-year-old as she faces down zombie rabbits, alien mobs, and Puppet Cartels while trying to find her missing twin in Sarah Cannon's imaginative middle-grade debut, Oddity. Welcome to Oddity, New Mexico, where normal is odd and odd is normal. Ada Roundtree is no stranger to dodging carnivorous dumpsters, distracting zombie rabbits with marshmallows, and instigating games of alien punkball. But things havent been the same since her twin sister, Pearl, won the towns yearly Sweepstakes and disappeared . . . Along with her best friend, Raymond, and new-kid-from-Chicago Cayden (whose inability to accept being locked in the gym with live leopards is honestly quite laughable), Ada leads a self-given quest to discover Odditys secrets, even evading the invisible Blurmonster terrorizing the outskirts of town. But one of their missions goes sideways, revealing something hinky with the Sweepstakes . . . and Ada cant let it go. Because, if the Sweepstakes is bad, then what happened to Pearl?

New additions to my collection! I‘m excited because the author of Oddity will be at an upcoming book festival and I can get it signed!

I'm just crazy, aren't I? #alltheeyerolls #litsyconfessions

SilversReviews I have only had one narrator in mine so far, but that would get a bit confusing with more than one. (edited) 6y
Zelma I don‘t care for it nor do I like music or sound effects. As a result, I only listen to non-fiction on audio, as I don‘t like a performative aspect to it. 6y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks Confession!! I‘ve never listened to one!! 🤣🤣 6y

DGRachel It really depends on the book. Some books with multiple narrators are enjoyable, but most drive me batty. 6y
JamieArc It sounds like you aren‘t crazy, though I do like multiple narrators, and the music at the very start always sets the tone for me. I have always loved radio theater though. 6y
Bookzombie There have been books that I liked with multiple narrators. However, my preference would be one narrator who does a bunch of voices really well. 6y

My March reads — not a bad month. I hate not finishing books but if I can‘t get into it, there‘s hundreds of other books I can try instead. I‘m a couple books behind on my Goodreads challenge but there‘s still plenty of time to catch up. #marchreads

This book reminded me a little of The Hunger Games, if it included aliens, zombie rabbits, & evil puppets. There‘s so much going on from the very start that I could hardly stand to put this book down. The action and excitement, the humor, the heart. Oddity had it all! Don‘t walk- run to your nearest book buying establishment now to get your copy! While you‘re at it, grab some marshmallows too; you never know when you‘re gonna need them. 5 ⭐️

Love it when an author gives a nod to other literary greats within their books. 🙌

MinDea Hey! Welcome back! I am glad to see you posting again!! 6y
monkeygirlsmama @MinDea Thanks! 😊 I never meant to disappear for such a long time. Hope to be more regular around these parts again. Still always reading and missing all of my dear Littens. 6y

My #currentread and I can‘t even begin to say how awesome this opener is! 😹 Surely this is going to be a good book when it starts like that. 🤞

"Last week a bologna sandwich in the back of someone's locker developed sentience and busted its way out, attacking bystanders' ankles. It took staff a while to sort out what was blood and what was ketchup. I don't know why things like that never happen during spelling tests."

A fun, weird little Nightvale-ian middle grade with mostly invisible monsters, not-at-all ominous puppets, grumpy kombucha scoby, missing twins, exploding pizza, and more.

I‘m making an effort to read more juvenile fiction so I can have titles to recommend to the kids that come into my library. When I saw this one, the cover immediately caught my eye and after reading what it was about, I knew I had to read it 😆 #juvenilefiction #jfiction

This book was a freaking DELIGHT. We read it to our 6yo daughter and Oddity is now, officially, her “favorite book EVER!” Even better, her dad and I were totally charmed - reading it was a genuine pleasure. More from Sarah Cannon, please 😊

Tamra Love that face! 6y
