Fight and Flight
Fight and Flight | Scott Meyer
6 posts | 8 read | 2 reading | 2 to read
Martin and his friends discovered that their world is computer generated and that by altering the code, they could alter reality. They traveled back in time to Medieval England to live as wizards. Almost everything they've done since then has, in one way or another, blown up in their faces. So of course they decide to make dragons. It does not go well. As the wizards struggle to control their creations and protect innocent citizens, they try new things (most of which they don't enjoy), meet new people (most of whom are angry at them), and fight epic battles (most of which they lose). But their biggest challenge may be a young girl who knows that the wizards created the dragons and is determined to make them pay. On her side she has powerful allies, a magical artifact, and a faithful if not particularly helpful dog. Fight and Flight is a rollicking tale of bravery, wonder, love, revenge, greed, discovery, deception, and animal husbandry.

It‘s not in the database, probably because he‘s publishing them directly as audible originals. But it‘s still the same crazy group of nerds, with the same great narrator.

In this installment you‘ll get a relationship implosion, multiple time jumping characters, magic trainees, a goblin, a Dune style ceremony complete with fremen, and one heck of a cliffhanger at the end!

Although I was I bit disappointed with the resolution to the main plot.

Guildedearlobe I listened to the first one, mostly because of Luke Daniels. Eventually I‘ll catch up on the rest of the series. It was quite fun. 5y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Guildedearlobe That‘s how I found the first one too, Luke Daniels is just an excellent narrator! 5y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Guildedearlobe Plus sometimes you just need silly fun. 5y

Gezemice @Riveted_Reader_Melissa Oh, really? I knew there was a book two, but 5! Nice. Might check it out when I want a light read! 5y

Pickpick

So I started out my #LitsyAtoZ challenge with a book I was really excited for. Scott Meyer‘s Magic 2.0 series is terribly hilarious and entertaining while also surprising and full of lovable characters. Fight and Flight is the 4th book in the series, and my F for the #LitsyAtoZ challenge. I highly recommend this series for any computer nerd and fantasy lover.
