The artwork in Saga is so good!
Everyone gets the feels when singing Country Roads…
Rainy summer days, perfect for catching up on baking and reading… 📚 ☕️ 🍪
When you visit a bookish friend for the first time post-vaccine... 🥰 📚😍
It‘s a slow start but once it gets going, it‘s hard to put down! ☄️🚀🧑🚀
Beautiful, sunny day to think about making our space more nature friendly. Happy to say our bird feeders are never without activity and our garden is full of healthy bugs. Plan to add some milkweed to the mix soon to feed the butterflies. 🥰 🦋
I‘m still finishing up my last selection from the previous box but as soon as I got this message I started hitting the track button more than was reasonable! My first picks were so good with Gollem Girl being the hidden gem that I would have never found in my own. So excited for new books! 📚 🥰🎉
Reading in the sun with my guard dog on the ready! I love Elatsoe‘s ghost dog companion and the Other realm elements so far. Fun spring time read!
I was so moved by Riva‘s story, her community, and art. 💯 recommend.
I loved the rebellious characters so much that I was worried I couldn‘t handle an ending that wasn‘t perfect. Unnecessary, the story did not disappoint.
Fun read! Maybe if I wasn‘t an only child, I would have more accurately guess the ending? 🤔
I really enjoyed this book, her narrative and those of her selected patients are heartwarming.
While still a Pick, it does have a fairytale feel. I can‘t ignore the lack of system or monetary issues facing these characters. No one‘s therapy is rushed for lack of resources or coverage, the problems addressed are not compounded by societal inequalities or need. The experience reads genuine but from a limited class perspective.
One week to get this one under my belt for class. Already feels like a nice change from theoretical articles... #thatPhDlife
I really liked how it was written, the voice and imagery are amazing. Ella's powers felt like a tease but built just enough for understanding. I was unsatisfied by the ending. This may be from lifetime of happy endings and a major issue addressed by the book is the lack of happy endings for people of color in every day America. We'll all need to continue to work for positive changes in the real world, so these stories can become true fantasy.
A book always gets bonus points for a fantastical library!!!
MyTBR box arrived today! I‘m excited to start my first recommendation. Judging from the letter and book summary, the bibliologist did a great job selecting books for me that I hadn‘t already buried deep on a reading list somewhere! #GetTBR
The first half, I was kinda disappointed: it was just ok, a lot about motherhood that seemed redundant with other working mom celebrities. The second half, she talks more about her career and Parks and Rec that makes sticking with the book worth it!
While I thoroughly enjoyed this novel of nonsense and tomfuckery, I might as well be under one of Puck‘s spells for my inability to tell you who did what to whom at the end.
Listening to David Sedaris read his stories from 2015 in 2020, I just can‘t help but wonder what he‘s thinking and feeling now... 2015 Sedaric: Trump is running for president?!? Conspiracies about the CDC, seriously?! oh man...
A good, cold night for a warm drink, Hot Buttered Bourbon with Sweet Vanilla Cream, and a good, gifted book! 🥰
I read it because ‘it‘s on all the lists but atleast it‘s short...‘
OMG It‘s SO good! Left me with the warm and fuzzies and the inspiration to do good things and enjoy the journey along the way. Great adventure without anxiety.
After reading Devolution, this weathervane is terrifying!
I almost quit on this one early because it felt too immature but I‘m very glad I stuck with it! Very smart, heartwarming look into growing into yourself and navigating culture.
I‘m starting to get into the suspense but I need to stop reading before bed! I woke up 2 nights dreaming about lava flows with heartburn and last night swore there was something in the house! 😱 🐱 😆
The logic wasn‘t perfect, some things have been done before... but boy was it still fun!
‘Violence does not grow organically in our deserts or at our borders. It has arrived there through policy.‘
I was little worried since the last book was a bit of a slump but I love Gwen and Martin‘s kids. So great!
I listened to this on Audiobook, read by Oprah. Her voice is so soothing. There were no major ‘ah-ha‘ light bulb moments but this is exactly what I needed during this time of global chaos - like listening to the encouraging words of your mama.
There were some interesting snippets into Oprah‘s life that I didn‘t know before.
Some things were predictable, the elements line up like ‘loaded shotguns‘ but the characters and story are so fun that I don‘t even care!
So much build up for future books, doesn‘t really stand alone at all. Make sure you start with the short story collections!
Audio sewing masks for the local nursing home... it‘s good to listen to something lighthearted these days!
It wasn‘t bad but there was nothing new. 🤷♀️
“She got lost in my heart, I think. Couldn‘t find her way out. Your grandma always had a terrible sense of direction.” 🥰
Anyone else buy this on for the title??? (Plus, it‘s on sale on Kindle!)
Are we sure this is fictional history and not a predictive text??? Great on audiobook!
This gets the worst rating because it gave me such hope for the first 200+ pages and then went down hill fast. Predictable, generic and unbelievable conclusion that had so much potential. I‘m glad I didn‘t buy it or I‘d want my money back...
So, my husband transported bodies for a couple years from morgues to the state medical examiners office, sometimes nursing homes, funeral homes, airports, etc. They all drove Grand Caravans and as long as the family wasn‘t involved they wore jeans and T-shirts...
Great white hunting patterns... really? Hmmm... maybe someone just really likes shark week 😂
They don‘t know why I chose to read this... they know it‘s only going to make me cry... 😭
Petra has the same opinion about cats as Ove... so glad it‘s Saturday! I needed these quiet reading puppy snuggles. 🥰
‘Grammatically challenged little natural disaster‘ may be my new favorite term for certain children...
