Bond's every story is tinged with nostalgic scenic beauty of Dehra and the mountains, filled with dark woods you get lost in. This was the main reason why I loved reading his stories so much, because I experienced the hills even without traveling there. This story being a children's story is beautiful in a simple, subtle way that just warms your day. A blue umbrella of a little girl becomes the subject of envy and the story goes from there.
