This book, about an old professor who is dying and his student taking his last class from him about life is as enlightening, as it is humourous and heart felt. Tugging at your tear ducts, this brings out laughter, joy and so many emotions but most of all it teaches the reader about man's primary obsession: death. An incredible journey that illuminates the many problems we see in a simple, easy manner. A truly incredible piece. #amustread #life

Sense of an Ending | Julian Barnes

Mehso-so

"Sense of an Ending" by Barnes, though started for me as an interesting read tickled down at some point. Maybe it was the narrative, or the long dragging way of presenting a story, it really didn't turn out to be as good as I had expected it be. Although some parts of the book had me highlighting lines some parts simply begged to be skipped. Yet, Barnes as an author has an impeccable way of moulding images that remain within the readers mind.

Heart breaking, inexplicably beautiful, and deeply impactful piece of work that takes us to the horror of the world war and what it looked like in the eyes of a nine year old boy. A story of a friendship so simple and easy that it knows no difference. It only believes in the simplistic bond that is humanely possible and asks with incredible curiosity why must be there a fence separating one side from the other.

After all are we that different?

Paper Towns | Green, John

Paper Towns by John Green had a very deep impact on me that I cannot express in words. I didn't expect it to be this different an experience for me. Keeping the story aside, it gave me different readings on life. We could see the world where people had strings. Us as puppets. We can see the world where people are leaves of grass, interconnected yet stranded or as vessels that are cracked and light gets in. A pleasant read it was. #books #life

An emotional, observant, nuanced and brilliant study of characters, their identities, the intricacies of family, the achingly excellent study of motherhood and all the emotions attached with that. Mrs. Richardson has always been about rules yet within her perfect family lies a little fire that threatens to burst free in the form of her daughter Izzy. This book moves one such that it stays and lingers long after having read it. #mustread

Texreader Great review. I loved this book. An interesting depiction of motherhood from different perspectives 2mo

A Man Called Ove: A Novel | Fredrik Backman

Pickpick

Backman's Ove is grumpy, moody old man. He does not like being talked to and avoids all types of socializing. Yet Ove has a heart so simple that it shines beautifully through the various facets of his personality. An absolutely heartwarming book, 'A Man Called Ove' tells the story of our everyday life minus the complications we tend to bring in. It shows one to love, to laugh again and to live. Definitely a recommended read.

And sometimes an old soul of a dog can perhaps teach us more than humans do. In this sad, beautiful and wonderfully written tale one finds a solace that resonates within you. A terribly touching story of love, kindness, family, loss, perseverance and of course racing in the rain. A perfect read for quiet, quiet afternoons.
P.S: Be ready with a box of tissue.

'Wild' by Cheryl Strayed is the kind of story one reads that soothes and heals and tells your own story in the most unexpected and subtle way. A story of loss, pain, despair, journey that ultimately leads you to your destination, your dreams and to yourself.

A story that makes a path through your heart and takes you exactly as the name suggests, to the Wild.

This is the kind of book that you should just give the chance to creep into those holes of your mind and fill, a story that consumes you and makes you live the lives of the characters. This book offers so many diverse emotions together that one can't really help it but fall in love with the writing. Its perfect for finding yourself if you are as lost as Charlie is. A perfect read for the lovers of story, emotions and acceptance. A healing touch.

This book is literally all of us. A lot of people are just like Charlie. A wallflower. Someone who just remains invisible or likes to remain invisible. Truth be told I myself am like that. Awkward, shy and weird. But you know what? Its okay. No matter who you are, what you are, YOU are YOU. And you are awesome. Someday you will know and its gonna be fine. Things will fall into place and you will belong to yourself. Have a wonderful day ahead.

Some books tell us the importance of stories. How they fill our minds and make us see things we cannot see in reality. Stories which haunts, chases, and makes you see the strangest realities. Stories which change your mind.

'Into The Water' by Paula Hawkins is a story tinged with mystery, depth, lies. It is definitely an interesting tale. #Mystery #PaulaHawkins

And sometimes there are stories that can just creep into your soul. The stories that make you feel all the emotions in a few seconds. 'The Nightingale' by Kristin Hannah is one such story. Set in France in the time of World War II, 'The Nightingale' tells stories of bravery, love , dedication, sacrifice and endurance of 2 very different yet somehow so connected sisters. It is definitely a must read.

"You are exactly what you are supposed to be"

This book really tells us to accept, love and just be okay with whatever quirky, weird side our personality has. It is okay to be who you are. The most important part is just loving oneself and when that is accomplished you would be surprised how happy and at peace you would be with yourself. There really isn't a 'norm', its just you and you are perfect.

The Nightingale | Kristin Hannah

"In love we find out who we want to be. In war we find out who we are."

A sad reality but the truth, unfortunately. In our best of times we can be whatever we want to be. Love nourishes and heals. Strengthens and steadies. But in chaos, in despair, we find out our ugly, dark true selves. In sadness we get to know those deep uncovered truths about us, explore the darkest deepest corner of our souls.

What do you think happens when a detective finds a murder without a motive. A murder of an author done brutally in his own locked room. And the suspects have rock-solid alibis. Except something doesn't add up...

'Malice' by Keigo Higashino is a perfect read for those readers who want the right twist in a crime thriller. Interesting, deceptive, and thrilling this book won't let you down.
