Kimberly Crepeaux confesses to her role in the murder of Hackie Pelletier and Ian Kelly but people know she is a liar. Rob Barrett, FBI investigator, is left to figure out the truth. Koryta has written a complex plot with lots of twists and turns. His characters are well-fleshed and believable. The tension builds and we finally learn the truth in the surprise ending. I‘m looking forward to reading more of his books.
An FBI agent returns to the small coastal town in Maine where he once spent his childhood summers, called in to elicit a confession from a young woman who may know the fate of a vanished couple. This was an interesting and atmospheric psychological thriller.

I tried audiopuzzling last night but could not follow the story. I found myself 10 chapters in with little understanding of the plot. Only that multiple bodies had been wrapped in plastic and sunk. And that a woman couldn‘t drive a stick shift. Gonna try again the old fashioned way: reading the 📖
