If you‘re a huge fan of the issue ‘Silent Interlude, this book is for you. It collects the original version plus a newly rendered take by a collection of modern comic artists. Also included are the vey first issue, couple other early ones, and Snake Eyes‘ origin. A must for fans of GI Joe, but for everyone else, YMMV.

Day 6

This is the most important comic, for me, that I own. It is the very first comic I read where I realized that comics aren't just Archie, Richie Rich, and Casper.

Leftcoastzen Priceless memory! 5y
GrilledCheeseSamurai @Leftcoastzen It was a very defining moment of my childhood. 😊 5y

GrilledCheeseSamurai @vivastory Afterlife with Archie is pretty damn fun. I just wish they would hurry up and finish it off. And hey - I'm not knocking Archie, Richie Rich and Casper - I had some good times with those books. I just didn't know comics could be about other things as well back then. 🤷‍♂️ 5y
vivastory No, I totally get it. I think my version of that was discovering Spiderman comics when I was I think 8 or 9 5y
GrilledCheeseSamurai @vivastory Yarp. I hear ya. After discovering GI Joe my next big realization was superheroes. X-Men and the Punisher. They rocked my world and I've been hooked on comics ever since. 😁 5y

This is the comic that started it all for me. I remeber it clearly. I was 8 years old and my mom brought this home for me when I was sick in bed with Tonsillitis.

I've been in love with comic books ever since. 😍

Reviewsbylola I love that. What a great memory. ♥️ Minus the tonsillitis part. 7y
emilyhaldi Awesome that your remember the one that started it all! My husband is a total comic nerd - he started reading them when he was little and still loves them now 😊 7y
Mdargusch I can‘t believe you still remember that! 7y
GrilledCheeseSamurai @Mdargusch G.I. Joe and Star Wars were my life blood when I was little. 🤣 7y

G.I. Joe was my whole entire world for a not unlengthy time of my childhood. Comics, toys, cartoon, you name it, if it was GI Joe I was down. Especially the comic.

Issue 21 was titled, Silent Interlude & didn't have a single word in it. It was one of the first Marvel Comics to be completely silent.

It rocked my 9 year old world & played a big part in my growing admiration of comic books...and Ninjas. 😅

Serotonin I was so addicted to the original cartoon 😊 Yes, those were days when cartoons were so gooood. 7y
