I went into this expecting a generic thriller, but it turned out to be rather good. The ending wandered into unlikely territory which spoilt it a little for me, but overall a good read. 4🌟

A twisty tale that kept me constantly guessing, I kept having lightbulbs and then changing my mind, really thinking into it all, and still didn‘t manage to figure it out before the big reveal. The ending was crazy and perfectly executed. The best thing about the book was the dialogue, each character had their own unique voice, it is a skill of a truly talented writer. A great read where the pages are so easy to turn and you can‘t stop reading.

this is a great read with real characters that you have sympathy for in a tragic tale of interconnected lives.

Deals with difficult topics of mental health issues, a child‘s death, secrets and lies with characters you end up caring about.

Full review on my blog!

When Maggie wakes up from a coma, the nurse tells her that she has been in an accident, her little daughter is dead, and her husband sold the house and left her.

Maggie doesn‘t remember a thing.

With no home, no family, and no memory, she has to find a way and discover what happened that day.

A thriller that will uncover the greatest of secrets everyone could have. A nail-biter this one, I tell you.

This is my second Nuala Ellwood novel and it hooked me from the start. Maggie is dealing with her daughter's death and her husband abandoning her just when she needs him the most. Does he blame her? Is that why he has left? This author has a style that hooks you in and keeps you turning pages. Plot twists you just will not anticipate. Maggie wakes up in hospital after an accident she doesn‘t remember, only to be told her daughter, Elspeth had drowned in the car. Her husband, Sean has disappeared and the home she thought they owned turned out to be rented and so she is homeless. Maggie is convinced her daughter is still alive and receives a letter written by her. She comes close to a breakdown and is helped by GP Julia, a care worker, Sonia....until a brilliant finale.....

I was hooked very engaging book. I was in the dark right to the end what really did happen on the day of the accident. So many ways this book could have gone which kept me turning the pages 😁
